Mini Cooper queries

Interesting. I haven't seen anyone mentioning transmission issues. Seems that most of the problems arise from the engine bay.

I will consider a while more or just extend my Peugeot 206 becauase I know exactly what I fixed (almost everything) so it should last..

Will still dream about the MCS though..

Neutral Newbie

Hi, does it make sense to get the 5-door diesel variant? Have always been a fan of Mini but kinda felt the cost is out of my budget until the 5-door diesel model came along (3-door may be quite restricted for a family with children). Am thinking that diesel would be cost-efficient and I am also not the kind who have a need for speed.

Please share your thoughts and suggestions! Much appreciated :)

Hi all

I am interested to get the mini one, think it is quite a good deal as the latest version is essentially a Cooper but 30k cheaper.

I checked with mini Singapore and they told me the wait for a 3 door with leather seats is about 4 mths. Is that the normal wait time?

Any ideas the wait time for Mini One 5drs model?

Depends on the color you want, they have some 5drs arriving next month. I am torn between getting a 3 or 5 door. 3 door is more sporty looking and lighter. The 5 door looks a bit weird from the side for a mini (it is a wee bit too long!), but is more practical and I heard better resale value.

I think Camden are not MCS.

For Bsywater, it’s MCS. option includes panosunroof & Harman Kardon audio.

Heat is the biggest enemy of Mini.

Cool.

I think I spotted this ad and hence I ask. Apparently suppose to be macham Siri interface

Will modding of an intercooler helps?

Intercooler does not reduce engine bay heat.

This looks decent

This was on my radar as well.

How do you tell if it looks decent? I mean aesthetics aside..

Anyone tried sending to AA for evaluation prior to committing? I heard they do detailed reports - may be a good way to find out if the car have underlying issues.

Get a specialist WS to evaluate rather than AA.

MC is exactly a family car. Must drive it hard to get the juice flowing. You need to know what is driving you to consider a Mini Cooper.

Apology. Should read as MC is not exactly a family car.

Electric Cooper coming?

Mini’s 2019 Electric Model Will Be Also The World’s First Electric Hot Hatch

Mini’s upcoming electric model will be something more than just another zero-emissions compact model; the first electric Mini will also focus in performance, aiming to become the world’s first zero-emissions hot hatch.

Based on the three-door hatchback, the future Mini Cooper S E will be revealed later this year using the existing UKL 1 platform as its base, only adapted to suit the electric powertrain, Autocar reports.

The electric Mini will most likely be powered by the BMW i3 S’s 181hp electric motor, giving it almost the same punch with the petrol-powered 189hp Cooper S. The extra weight of the battery pack is expected to be offset by the zero-rpm torque, making the Cooper S E similarly fast with its sibling.

The lithium-ion battery pack is also expected to be shared from the i3, giving the first electric Mini a driving range of around 200 miles (321km).

Mini previewed its production EV with the 2017 Mini Electric concept; the final car is expected to be visually more common with the Cooper S, featuring small styling tweaks to portrait its zero-emissions nature.

Mini plans to reveal the Cooper S E during the celebrations of its 60th anniversary this year, seeing it as the perfect time to launch the next chapter in the brand’s history. Sales are expected to start in Europe towards the end of the year.

Hmm... pity the central screen is still rectangular, was hoping they'd introduce a fully circular screen with custom UI to fit.

Maybe next time

Hello Mini owners, just wondering if there are any 2015 Mini One 1.2 owners here. Receiving my second hand 3 year plus Mini One next week at 49k mileage. Just wondering what issues have any of you Mini One drivers faced out there? :) Advice much appreciated.
