Do NOT Call Registry

Registered, all 3 registries. Remember, guys, after you register, if they spam you before the provisions come into effect in Jan 2014, we should remind them that we're on the DNC and that it'll really cost them after Jan (this is a warning that we're not to be trifled with). After Jan 2014, don't give chance, just report them and let them suffer.

It's all about our privacy. As for the jokers saying give them a chance because they can't make an honest living otherwise, well, there will always be jobs that get phased out when society changes. Some of those jobs are viewed by the majority as dishonourable, even parasitic. I don't think anyone shed a tear for the hangmen in countries that have outlawed the death penalty, right?

Next mission for the Government to impose :

STOP These Idiots : Plumbers, property agent and Air-con company, enrichment schools slotting leaftlets and brochures into your house or onto your car windscreen.

Get all these idiots out of jobs

Don't forget those locksmiths that place stickers at your gate/door/wall

And those that put their name card, flyers on your wiper.

The rain comes and the bloody paper disintegrate and stick on your windscreen.

This is like OFAC screening in B2B. Before you transact, you need to OFAC screen your customers. Concept is the same. So, there's nothing businesses should complain about checking the DNC registry before calling.

Those with + in front of their numbers?

Wah jialat. So now these SG companies will outsource telemarketing to other countries to call us. Cos this DNC do not has jurisdiction against international calls. [furious]

So back to square one again.

These company will find the loop holes to spam us. [:|]

Yes...news reported yesterday that business owners are looking at "alternatives" as not to flout any laws...I think they will try all ways to circumvent the new rules.

Yes but the business cost might escalate and other control factors. Still might result in lesser calls overall.

One step at a time. This is a move in the correct direction.

bro, can elaborate how to do this ? [grin]

When you receive from 8113xxxx

<ADV>

New launch..blah blah..

Text Marvin 9296xxxx

<UNS> unsub

You set up your fax machine to fax to 9296xxxx since Marvin is the perpetrator here.

Setup your machine to try 10x every 10 mins, for example.

Forget about 8113xxxx bcuz that is a spamming server.

Use a private line and start paying back the spammer.

You can do it every half or one hour. Just keep repeating when free.

If everyone he spams repays him the same way, he will be very busy and maybe learn his lesson not to spam 500 people next time.

Twincharged

if i add my number to the list, will credit cards promotions still be sent? (Those cards you already have)

I don't think so. Cuz what I heard from some of my friends who work in banks and insurance companies, they have to use their handphones to call some of their clients already once this DNC starts. Their office phone will automatically block all these numbers even if they are clients.

Unless you give them permission to send you advertisements again.

If you join any lucky draws, they just need to add in the T&C that by joining you give them permission to use your number then they can start sending advertisements to you again even if you are on the DNC list.
