Hv you guys heqrd of seagull. Its a chinese company that makes movements and watches.

More than 10 yrs ago my sister bought a watch resembling a patek calatrava from shanghai.

It was a Seagull. Very elegant and fairly well made for its price i think $10 or $20.

Lately i saw a Seagull boutique at ppls park. It has some complications model and if i am not wrong even torbillon.

Pretty cool and cheap although i know i wont likely buy one.

yes, they have tourbillion. in fact not cheap, going around 10k if i dun remember wrongly when i last saw it in a boutique in china.

their normal range goes for around $200 to 1k, i dun think u can get it at $10-20

hi maybe can share with us your criteria for selecting the watch? do you prefer strap or bracelet? bigger dial or smaller dial? daily or weekend wear? office or outdoor? ease of resale? (i have a fried who bought rolex because of its resale value, not because he like it :D )

personally I like Pam and between 111 and 312, I'll go with 312 - 3 days power reserve, 1950s case, in-house movement. if I were to get a rolex i'll go for the explorer II white face, again personal preference. the sub is too common nowadays.

suggest you go to a boutique try on the watches and see which one you truly like, one that you will enjoy wearing and admiring it all the time. ^_^

by the way all the watches you mentioned are quite sought after so no worries about resale value should you decide to let go later...

or be like me, wear the sub , explorer, daydate, datejust all on croco strap.... stand out in a crowd., heh

$10-20 was more than 10 yrs ago as I have mentioned

It was a very simple watch branded with the word "hai" (sea)

and I remembered clearly the words "seagull"

I think it was a manual winding one.

I heard SeaGull produces pretty solid movements for many companies worldwide.

Hi tks for suggestion.

actually no criteria in selection and wearing it (be it for work or weekend... see mood). Seen/surfed many brands and finally narrow down to the 4 cos i like them most amongst the others i saw (actually still got others like franck muller, corum, etc but dun want to think of them anymore)

I like pam for the size, sandwich dial, back display case, shiny polish bezel. But im very rough careless person. .likely going for explorer II for now (better withstanding rough usage). unless come across any good price offer in sgroc for the other 3 choices

:p

Since u mention rough usage, you can consider Sinn U1. Tegimented case, unique look.

But its a b&b movement and brand not as atas as those u mentioned.

Price much cheaper too.

go for PAM 111 if u want a big case and u can live without date. The BNIB price is very decent if u can get 6k or below. The cheapest preown i remember seeing was $5.2k.

if u wanna go for exp2, i suggest the discon model becos the new model is overrated and its selling at a premium now. alternatively, u can go for omega PO if u wanna ruggness.

The Explorer II is quite sought after now, hence the price.

ya. Their mass production managed to catch up with demand now. most shops have stock (in HKG).

No worries, as long as you got the money, it will be yours sooner or later....why not get the 312 instead of the 111?
