mersaylee Hypersonic March 15, 2016 Share March 15, 2016 It's like the good old 'cheap-good-fast' choose 2 out of the 3. What we have now is 'train-gantry-lift' choose 2 to work at any one time...2nd one never seems to breakdown since it collects fares.

13177 Hypersonic March 16, 2016 Share March 16, 2016 SINGAPORE - A train fault on the Circle Line apparently caused widespread congestion at MRT stations during morning rush hour on Tuesday (March 15). While there were no updates on the train fault on operator SMRT's Twitter page, the first complaints started appearing on Twitter at around 8.10am. Several commuters complained of slow trains and being stuck at stations. Looks like breakdown down during peak hour is a norm now!
13177 Hypersonic March 16, 2016 Share March 16, 2016 SMRT cover up train breakdown incident today While frustrations grew and tempers flared, SMRT held back information over a massive train breakdown that happened along the Circle Line affecting key interchange Serangoon and Dhoby Ghaut this morning (Mar 15). The listed conglomerate in Singapore’s transport duopoly did not update their Twitter and Facebook account as they usually do. SMRT has as in past occasions use these social media outlets as official channels to inform commuters of train delays. According to twitter accounts, there was a train fault along the Circle Line this morning around 8.10am and train stations became unbearably crowded for close to an hour. It appears SMRT has taken train delays and breakdowns as part and parcel of everyday life to not see the need to inform commuters. Despite having news outlets picking up the report, SMRT did not apologize or make any explanation for the morning delay. In the recent transport survey conducted by the Land Transport Authority, Singaporeans surveyed were found very satisfied at 78.9% satisfaction rate over train service. The result has however been called out as a bluff by many Singaporeans online as the Singapore government has a history of fabricating statistics and surveys to generate a better image for itself.
