Happily1986 5th Gear March 8, 2012 Share March 8, 2012 i am not saying a Full AMD Rig will definitely win a full intel Rig. what i am saying is i build my Rig for specify gaming purpose. i know what is my acceptable level. AMD processor gave me the best bang for bucks (mean its cheap for what i require as compare to Intel of similar power) For graphic card? Nivida arent always the technology leader though they have the larger market shares. Now it was Nivida era again, but there was a period ATI was ahead. so its really a who advance faster in their R & D stage. i think he totally miss your point that you made= value for money disposition. Intel is infamous for jacking colossal profit margins and i don't think they take care of their subcons and upstream partners as kawan kawan. have been mercilessly sapping huge profit margins at the expense of inflated pricing at consumer end and also at their partners' bottomline too. desktop computing is fast becoming a diminished niche. the future of computing is in mobile solutions with further convergence of notebook and tablet solutions. AMD was actually ahead in terms of x86 SoC solutions but too bad being fabless, 有不测之风云. in fact if you look at Intel's Cedar Trail and compare to AMD's Bulldozer, Intel's Atom in terms of graphics performance compared to AMD's Brazos is 靠边站. Despite the fact that Bulldozer has been generally acknowledged to be a cmi design. Which implies that Atom is eceb worse. what do you expect of a product trying to leverage on ancient Pentium III tech? Anyway Microsoft has coded for Win 8 to be used on ARM RISC architecture so we shall see how long Intel can yaya. if you think Intel is doing very well now and is supremely confident, you can't be further from the truth. until it can safely assure itself that it is able to crack into the smartphone and tablet market, it is sitting on a potential decline, juxtaposed against a backdrop of ARM riding high. Just ramp up the volts a bit and it can instantly overclock quite a substantial amount. The I7 is undisputed king now. AMD is good up to the mid price point Good if you happen to have a game or prog that is optimised for parallel programming. Also, certain programmes are CPU intensive whereas others are very much dependent on I/O read/write access timings. Furthermore, the real bottleneck in many systems is the HDD.
