Yewheng Twincharged March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 (edited) The problem is his attitude. I don't think it's a one off beat the red light situation. He is probably a serial red light beater. I once was witness to a van driver who beat the red light and seriously injured a motorcyclist and his pillion. TP told me that without a witness they could not prosecute the van driver as he insisted he did not beat the lights. We need such clowns off our roads. Tony Yes you are right. Must send strong signal to these people. Make them realise that not only TP is watching, in fact everone is watching, and if the driver still want to beat red light, be prepared someone driving behind may have video camera mounted inside the car and capture video of the driver beating red light. Yewheng Twincharged March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 (edited) agree, if driver license is his lively hood, than the more should he treasures it and not F#$k around with it But what I personally feel is that to give the driver 1 chance ( as in not to report both that will make him lose licence ). Just report 1 video to TP and TP must craft the message in such a way that it is not TP or traffic light camera that caught the driver beat red light. It is driver behind with video camera that caught him. Must send strong signal to the van driver that now he must be even more careful as eveyone is watching and not just TP. So next time when he approach every traffic light, see whether he dare to beat red light again not... [laugh] * Don't want mentally of driver still thinking that as long as NO TP, or No red light camera, the driver can do anyhow he like (which can be qutite dangerous at times ) . Let these people realise that now, it is even more difficult for them to take chances, and hopefully these people can slowly cultivate good driving habits and make it as a everyday routine one day. JJ_JJ Clutched March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 Why not trace the vehicle registration to the owner? Write to the owner and warn him not to do it again... I believe this will definitely be more effective in discouraging him from doing such acts rather than letting TP issue him with FINES.

I believe this will definitely be more effective in discouraging him from doing such acts rather than letting TP issue him with FINES. Let me ask you a question. If one day your receive a letter from unknown person / source that the driver has video capture of you beat red light with youtube link and warning you not to do it again. ( example only ) VS TP send you letter issuing you with 12 demerit points and fines for betting red light that someone send TP a video of you beating red light with Youtube link. Which one will you be more afraid of? Which one will be more effective? The one that from someone that is unknown that send to you, you may have feel that your privacy is compromised as you don't know who the hell send to you, and you may even make police report of someone stalking you or whatsoever ( extreme scenario ) . But does it really deter driver not to beat red light? The driver maybe thinking someone just want to find him trouble only and even want to see who is the person who send him the letter. End up still back to same old habits. Let TP handle and TP must send clear message that it is not TP or any traffic light camera that caught him will do the job. I hardly beat red lights for many years of my driving. It happened before though, and that was when the bloody timing of Amber to Red was split second away. To answer your question, I personally will thank the person who send me the letter and for sure will amend my bad driving habits as aboved. If from TP, KNN i will confirm, double confrim and trple confirmed that people on this island love to be ruled by fears and prolly they have LOST the conscience that was intentionally placed upon them when they were born. In conclusion, give him a chance to make correction.

Fooblack Supercharged March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 i think we just have to pass the evidence to TP. It's their call whether to persecute that driver... we do not need play judge. from what i can see.. it is obvious that TP needs some help from the general public as they are almost oblivious to the traffic conditions out there.. Vhtfhwlego Supercharged March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 Swee Heng Bakery once had a driver that disregard other road user... He overtook me in Bendemeer via the taxi lane.... As the van he was driving advert Swee Heng big big and I know that chances are, this is a SH nearby. I turned into the next carpark, walked around and found a SH branch at Blk 27. I ask the aunties, you have a delivery van just drove off? The aunties explained to me that "this guy" always quarrel with others... Just last week, he fought with a taxi driver.... Then I asked for their MD's telephone and they refuse to give me the number.... I left my phone with them and then I drove straight to TP and gave my statement. After walking out from TP, the MD called me. I told the MD one very simple thing "if that one earning $1000 can drive like F1, it can ruined your company reputation. No matter how "fast", hardworking & honest he is, the damages from damaging your company reputation is able to justify the removal of his services". Neutralsg 5th Gear March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 Such incidents should not go unreported if we, as road users, want our roads to be safe. Every driver should REMEMBER to be a responsible and safe driver as best as possible if they cherish the privilege of their driving licence. Drivers such as the one indicated in the videos are often a recalcitrant and should be taken off from our roads if we want our roads to be safe. A habit, if left unchecked will become a 2nd nature. Apparently is it a natural driving style of the driver in the video, whose attitude; CAN POSSIBLY lead to a bad accident if allowed to continue. Have a great week! and thanks for contributing to make our roads safer.
Calvin79 2nd Gear March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 Dear drivers, When I was sending my wife to work on Sat morning. I came across this Fiat that beat 2 red lights. Should I report him/her or give him the benefit of doubt? Personally I feel that it is a bit dangerous to other road users but maybe thats just me and he beat the light just a fraction of a second after it turned red. The poll is opened and thread created for your suggestion / comments. Your Video just inspired me to order a Car Cam on G-market! hehehe Like what everyone said, we all do a part to get all the dangerous drivers off the roads... this will help everyone in the long run. Yewheng Twincharged March 12, 2012 Share March 12, 2012 (edited) In my opinion, i think one should mind their own business. If everyone think like you. Than Singapore will be like china where each individual mind their own business and end up see how china people can ignore a toddle that is run over by lorry not once but twice. Very sad society. Until we or one of our loved ones ends in misery because of a single irresponsible, reckless, dangerous, mindless and selfish driver??? If it is not about driving, most; if not all of us MAY AGREE however, BECAUSE IT IS ALL ABOUT SAFETY ON THE ROADS which most, if not all of us uses daily, IT DEFINITELY BECOMES THE BUSINESS (CONCERN) OF ALL ROAD USERS!!!
