Adrianli Hypersonic April 16, 2012 Share April 16, 2012 My frens and I were happily flying our model helicopters in the middle of nowhere on a sunday morning. The road was cleared of any vehicles most of the time on sunday. You can see from the photo taken from my helicopter, how isolated and clear the roads are : We parked our cars along the road and flew our model helicopters. LTA Enforcer came with his flashing lights turned on and indicated to us to not park our car along the road. We never argue, just pack up and leave. But I was thinking, this is not some crowded road or frequently used road. Why chase us away when we are not causing any obstuction or any inconvenience to any road user. The FW were more appreciative of our flying of model helicopters. SG is already very small with little places for us to fly, why like this??? ↡ Advertisement

Rickster 5th Gear April 16, 2012 Share April 16, 2012 Maybe somebody almost hit your parked cars while admiring the surroundings or your helicopter Personally, i'll not report illegal parking unless they park in such a way that causes danger to others. We fly further away from HDB cos we do not want to wake the ppl up. The average weight of our heli is in the range of 4 to 5kg. Add on the other accessories to carry, easily ard another 2 to 3kg. We dont bring one heli only but sometimes two or three just in case we crash one. How to carry to many stuff from carpark faraway??? We tried to be considerate n only fly there in the morning when there is little to zero traffic on a sunday.
Adrianli Hypersonic April 16, 2012 Author Share April 16, 2012 nice pic. you have camera on board? Only one heli has camera onboard. Fly it only once in a while when it is safe to do so, away from restricted areas n ppl's flat.

What these little pricks should be doing is to make their lazy ar$e to Marsiling, Woodlands or Yishun to do proper enforcement near the markets on a Sunday morning. Btw, I never understand why the road outside Chong Pang Nasi Lemak is always parked with cars despite the double zig-zag. One of them will just turn up and let everyone run away. Who is he to decide? His job is to enforce. No wonder that problem never solve. He can go a thousand times and we'll have the same problem. And I think in one way or another, we are paying his wages, no? Sosaria Twincharged April 16, 2012 Share April 16, 2012 (edited) What to do? Nowadays less and less areas available for radio-controlled flight. Even if there is no restriction of airspace, the authorities will try to nail people down for other offences, as you found out, illegal parking and so on. If they want to be nasty, they can even claim you are trespassing state land, then signboards will go up, etc. I fly too, by the way, so I can sympathize with your predicament, and appreciate that actually you're flying responsibly, in a safe place, and in consideration of residents. And the tough thing is that for these hobbies, you really need to have a car and park at the site. How to lug around all that gear, helicopter, etc. from HDB carpark to the field?? I guess the only way is for you guys to unload all your stuff first, at the site, while leaving one guy to guard - while you then park your car at the proper place and then walk to the site. Lot of inconvenience, but then here in singapore, convenience is only for the rich and pampered elite these days... This enforcement guy is for real. He wear a LTA ENFORCER jacket, riding a bike and flashing red light on it rear storage box. ↡ Advertisement
