Panerex77 1st Gear September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 if i am a ST user now, and recon with IP5. Since they will be isssuing me with the nano-sim, does it mean the current sim i have on my IP4 will no longer be active? But even if the sim card is inactive, can i still leave it inside my IP4 and use it to play games that do not require 3G network?

Elfenstar 3rd Gear September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 you have to remember that apple has a mature ecosystem ... so if they wanted to do something radical, ie "super duper retina display", *all* the current apps may become incompatible (or may require emulation, smt like running iphone apps on an ipad with the 2X) however, if they slowly introduce newer technologies, it gives everyone supporting their ecosystem time to catch up ... (hardware devs, accessories, software devs etc) its already going to be a pain to port to the new reso ... so thankfully theyve given us enough lead time to fix whatever we need to do so ... Actually its not just screen lah. Think about the camera, they just made it slimmer, but otherwise its the same as its 4S brethren. What did Nokia do? They ran with a larger than average phone sensor size, and threw in optical stabilisation. What did LG do? they ran with a thinner camera too, retained the sensor size, but increased the the capacity of the sensor to 13mp. Then there's rolling out the new maps up with their turn by turn navigation and 3D view, but threw out walking directions and public transport directions/info As for the screen they just went for something thinner, yet Sony is running similar tech and the capability to use the screen with regular gloves, etc. The language aspect of Siri is good, but most of us have realised that it, Google Now, etc are more of a gimmick rather than something outright useful. Facebook integration is great, but its nothing new. Android has had this down to a T since inception. The faster CPU is good, but there isn't much news on it. Great if its using the A15 architecture, but nothing more than catch up if its a quad core A9. Even then, thanks to how the iPhone works, you'll probably not notice it unless you're doing photo editing, or hardcore gaming (I'm not talking about you fruit ninja ) Much more could have been done, or if done said, e.g. further optimisation of the code so browsing is faster, or improving Exchange sync so that all the funny caveats on contact sync, calender sync etc get resolved, etc Maybe this writeup on the BBC can explain the disappointment best. http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-19557497

Sdf5725 1st Gear September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 Maybe this writeup on the BBC can explain the disappointment best. http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-19557497 no matter how objective other essays say about the iphone 5, the die hard fans of Apple will still buy and praise their newest the "most powerful" smartphone in the world. for me, it is funny to see Apple has to follow what Samsung is doing, bigger screen for phone, smaller size of pad, thinner, lighter, etc. up to certain extent, i still wondering if one day Apple said the panoramic photo taking is in fact "created" by Apple and claim it is their IP, in US, there will still have ppl follow and blindly accept it. Don't get me wrong. I don't think its a bad phone. Not suitable for me, but not bad It's just underwhelming. After all the talk of innovation, and revolutionary and their "do not copy us" mantra, all they could come up with was this ↡ Advertisement
