Felipe 3rd Gear September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 Saw the new on Yahoo this morning. Gosh, i thought the photo is a 4s. Other than the upgraded hardware (nothing spectacular) and some new features which i don't think is useful at all. Apple gonna think hard to revolutionize their current gadgets or developing new ones in order to stay as the market leader. What they are doing now is the same as other manufactures; upgrading and improving. If they get too comfortable, they gonna be another Nokia soon. U notice the dramatic difference between past and present. Last time, Apple used to make products with unique designs plus superb build quality. Seems like now its just improving on build quality. The strange thing is the design head is the same guy. I'm thinking now if Jobs was truly the design head. Even the ipad3 was a disappointment design wise. Felipe 3rd Gear September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 i will still sign up for Iphone 5 though. their apps are still better than Andriods. and OS still smoother. However, Lumina 920 likely going to be my main phone. only thing is, should i wait for Lumnia 1000 (if there is one.) Ya, it will take quite awhile for folks to migrate to a different eco system. The advantage microsoft has is their integration of windows 8 n mobile. I foresee most windows 8 users will eventually move towards winphone, with nokia leading the pack. Macusers will hang on to their iphones.

People used to rush to iphone is not mainly for the design and build quality but for the apps that they can use too. They are excited because there's thousands of apps to play with. Now, with the market already saturated, you and i know what apps we will use and the novelty no longer exist.

Happily1986 5th Gear September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 (edited) The iPhone was launched back in 2007. The revolutionary design phase is perhaps over and subsequent design improvements is evolutionary so what do you guys want? Something to wow your pants off? Just for that initial euphoria? Or do you prefer having something that keeps improving and just works? Edited September 13, 2012 by Happily1986

Roadie 1st Gear September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 I am also going to wait for Nokia 920. Bit bored with Android and already dropped apple after iPhone 3G. iPhone 5 lacked the won factor. 4inch screen is really tiny by today's standards. Windows interface really nice. Bought a nokia 610 for my maid. From the little time I spent on it, liked the interface and also the responsivess, even though its a budget model. Different from the very similar iOS and Android. 920 should be nice from looks of it. As someone suggested, Nokia stocks look like a steal. They wont roll over like RIM Blackberry. Sp4wn Turbocharged September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 i prefer the latter. that is why i support microsoft?? some how the reputation dont match you have to remember that apple has a mature ecosystem ... so if they wanted to do something radical, ie "super duper retina display", *all* the current apps may become incompatible (or may require emulation, smt like running iphone apps on an ipad with the 2X) however, if they slowly introduce newer technologies, it gives everyone supporting their ecosystem time to catch up ... (hardware devs, accessories, software devs etc) its already going to be a pain to port to the new reso ... so thankfully theyve given us enough lead time to fix whatever we need to do so ... Ben5266 Supercharged September 13, 2012 Share September 13, 2012 There are lots of articles on this topic if you google. Anyway, u can try this: Location services -> System Services. Switch off everything except cell network search & compass calibration. From 7am, my phone last till 11pm with 20% battery. If i play Pocket Planes, it will be a different story then. Thanks for the tips. Let see how it behaves. ↡ Advertisement
