can play as and when you find something on iPhone/ipad and play on tv immediately?

i think i am the problem. i only like to watch movies on large screen TV with good sound system..

drama serial of course, i might be willing to compromise. but if graphic too lousy, normally i just forgo it.

err.. not about TV. its about personal preference for seeing movie

i cannot plug in phone and input and output files like thumbdrive via file explorer?

This is old skool lah.

 

If i need to use the file on iphone, i juz email it to myself. Why do u need a phone that works like a thumbdrive?

Same.. if its available in HD.. i'll definitely go for HD.. even DVD quality i sometimes forgo it..

actually now a day i only buy Blue-Ray and must come with DTS.

 

if want to buy 3D. they must come with separate disc for Blue Ray and 3D. cause those together one graphic not good.

different strokes for different folks. I find itunes great for organising the music collection and generating playlist, and syncing them between multiple devices a breeze.

 

With the recent introduction of appletv, the itunes eco system got even bigger since purchases can easily be played on the home theatre system now.

 

But for the phone wise, there's little draw (for me at least) to switch from a 4S to a 5 especially when there's doesn't seem to be any ios6 feature that's exclusive to iphone5 only.

 

Having said that, i still find the ios more polished than android.

Yup. It's a great tool to organize your music files coz that is what it originally is developed for. I still find my ipod+itunes very useful this day.

I also prefer to watch on a big screen. No watching on tablet or phone for me. But i normally buy dvd and play with my ps3. Cheap dvd is enhanced by the ps3.

I only buy BR for those movie i find worth to collect.

i always sync my phone and tablet.

 

I find it annoying that Andriod device, (or at least those belong to samsung since my andriod devices are primary samsung.)

 

Most of the time cannot be detected on my PC unless i restart the device. This is a big turn off.

Actually... what's the big issue with sync?

We need to charge the phone anyway.

Just connect the cable and let the iMac charge and sync at the same time.

when have new release, it will also update automatically without error.

 

but ok... if Windows is lile that than a lot of IT guys will be out of job.

iirc, its to ensure the pixel density doesnt change ..

 

anyway this apple vs android thing ah .. everyones got their own pref. i've used both devices .. both got plus and minus.

 

like to tinker with your device? android.

want to access your files like a computer? android.

want more variety of devices? android.

 

bo chap like me and just need it to be a phone and game machine? apple.

want to purchase stuff easily and maintain a proper library of apps? apple.

 

on a side note, i needed to email a pdf to a bank yesterday. could have done it in 2 steps with android. cant email a pdf with iphone .. so i had to email the dropbox link ... lol ...

 

it really boils down to your needs. even if you go the apple route, its costlier, since if you want to see on tv, you need apple tv la, want apple products, got to pay the apple "tax". in the same vein, accessories are easier to find for apple if you like that kind of thing ...

 

we can argue till the cows come home, but i think we all feel different about each camp cos we already spent the money, so maybe we need to justify it? (maybe to others too, if we feel strongly). at the end of the day, we're all just geeks at heart ha ha ...

Just get a AppleTV then the iPhone5 can throw 1080p movie to your home theater wirelessly.

My usage is very simple, just youtube and surf net. I don't game or do fancy stuff with my phone. If it's longer only, then no point upgrading.

If Apple come out with a bigger iPhone, like 4.5" but keeps the 16:9 ratio, will it be a challenge for the developer?

any changes will req a separate set of images etc scaled to that size.

 

ie, we need to keep the background graphics in resolution for iphone 3GS, then 1 set for ipad, then retina iphone, then retina ipad. now new model also need to update graphics again .. (i cant recall if the sdk gives some provision for maintaining retina graphics and having letterbox bars on the sides, but that will look ugly :/ )
