Very few are aware that China enjoy far more consumer rights than we have in SG, let along heard of such event  called "中国315问题车展"

Our CASE is like paper tiger. 😉

A BMW owner put up a big big banner complain at the 问题车展 event.

Obviously many things there is wayang only lah. You think they really enjoy more freedom haha. The way the reps from domestic car brands trying to cover might as well don't hv these kind of freedom.

With this war, everyone will be pushing EV. China seems to have all these planned out decades ago.

But EV charging can also become ex due to war.

In his 2013 state visit to US, our then PM LHL crack joked about China's air pollution saying "“Beijing residents joke that to get a free smoke all they have to do is open their windows!”.

The Chinese gov already aware of the problem and no one in Beijing was laughing.

So they decided to take action plan since 2009, a year after Beijing Olympic Game.

One of the side benefit was the investment in new energy tech like battery and electrification innovations, which CHina now domians the patent and inventions.

So existing China car makers like Geely and SAIC Motor began to develop EV...then came startups like Xpeng, NiO, Li Auto. Then others join like established enterprises like BYD and Xiaomi join.

No Wanyang, No Empty promises --- Just DO IT

That polluted air (which our PM joked about) on was real reason why Chinese EV now dominate the road in SG and rest of the World today...

This apparent openness is only partially true bro..

so long as it’s not turned into anything political or affects an important person , loud open complaints are not a problem as it makes for interesting news fodder

if so any trace of dissent will be erased within hours, so YMMV

Cheers

Bro, anything can be politicised....Even personal choice of EV brand. We already can see this in MCF...

Nothing new. 😉

EV will likely be cheaper to run  (at least x2) due to the  efficiency gap.

But the article is also about energy security, you want to reduce your dependence on imported oil and gas from a volatile region.

Nothing wrong with investing early and beyond - Self sustainable resource is the only way and you can even $ELL your "extra power" back to the power grid. [thumbsup]

You can always install battery and become truly self-sustainable.

Oh...already proven by a NUS research team. All this innovative battery need is constant exposure to ambient moisture. [thumbsup]

According to one of the researcher Dr Zhang, the battery can continue to provide power as long as there is moisture into air.

Depends on your budget

Those are not "truly self-sustainable" as the setup still partly depend on power grid-tier system

Kinda like a high capacity UPS with extra intelligence in the power management.

The closest so-called truly self-sustainable "battery" is a nuclear power reactor. 😄
