Online scam

OK technically not a scam but those who have parcels from overseas should take note.

Recently received 2 parcels couriered by F****X.  A few days later, received invoices to pay the GST (which I presume they paid on behalf first) PLUS a "GST Advancement Fee" of $20 per invoice!  The GST was only about 60 each.

I just paid the GST component plus $1 for the postage to told them not going to pay the 19 per invoice.  They have just email no need to pay and will give credit note of 20.

Really try to pull a fast one. Shameless tactics to make some extra money.  This is almost like simi Singapore business directory last time sending out random invoices and some companies goondu goondu make payments.

@Volvobrick i also kenah something similar long long time ago ....

but its not so much of a scam but the logistics company just want to squeeze money out of buyers.

bought a mobile phone online and the courier company called and to me got to pay S$30 for the permit fees.

LL got to pay else they won't deliver the phone .... but they did attach the import permit along with the phone.

If goods with them then no choice. The rest like TB, EzyBuy all more transparent.

@Volvobrick don't know if it is the seller and the courier pakat or not .... coz only after the goods arrived in SG, the courier then inform got to do permit.

when ask the seller, he claim he don't know ....

This practise is quite common during the good ole days.
