Online scam

Yesterday I received a few different call numbers starting with 8. The guys spoke to me with Malaysian accent that they are from union pay and their office is at Marina Bay.

They said I went to NTUC online and was given a free voucher.

If I do not pay by yesterday, they will deduct my bank acct. 

They kept on pressing me for my bank acct. 

Luckily I din provide them and I hang up the phone.

I submitted these two numbers below to Scamshied apps and it turned out to be scam numbers.

 

same here, could be the same guy, the numbers are fake, I did try call back to confirm.

But I made one guy so tulan that he called me some time later just to ^&*%&$^^$@..., such lowlife

but the worrying part is that they can address me by my full name ! that's why i listened to the prep-talk .... and they won't hold you long as they will tell they are just CS and someone from billing will call you later.

They know my name too, but lucky they are stupid enough and unable to piece together some convincing stories. They are probably hope to hook some gullible folks.

The call came in...Sir verification purpose you transfered a sum to this account....at certain hour today. 

I told that guy over at the other end a straight answer. 

Replied "yes. My wife. In bed right beside me"

A moment of silence followed. 

Wifey threw me a sniggering glance.

Look at the timings. 68788888 belong to dbs.

I was sceptical as well. That was why wifey took note of that call. We were in bed then at that hours..

Anyway it was a legit call. Give credit and appreciated for their Hard work to safeguard our property.

nowadays scammers are very good, can even get office colleague names.... tsk tsk tsk

again, they have my full name and IC, claiming himself as IO from some government department, investigating money laundering

he is more gan cheong (nervous) than me

several times, I have to ask him to repeat what he said and ask him to speak slowly

half way he gave up and hang up the call
