Hey, jokes aside, the place is not a joke, cannot and will not, I lost two guys, and the 8 days were in the swamp waiting for target, and I didn't eat one single thing in all that time, apart from the last meal we had at camp. Only teh terak water. Back to the NS man, if he's dead, I hope his soul finds solace.

Jtay 1st Gear August 14, 2012 Share August 14, 2012 In SAF a life loss is not only a loss of a soldier, but a loss of a brother, comrade, love one and family member. Our population is small and such losses are very very significant.. May he rest in peace and may Allah bless his family during trying times... And to whatever divine powers out there, hope they will continue to guide/bless our boys in the force while they serve their national obligations... Yah....a single loss is already one too many. [bigcry] Hope the family can stay strong. After all this is over, the fact finding and finger pointing will start. e.g. why was this boy alone in the boat when the SOP was for them to be in pairs? Mazdaowner Moderator August 14, 2012 Share August 14, 2012 That is sad to hear to hear, hopefully SAF can investigate and give the family a closure I really hate to say this, news like this, families will not find closure. Have seen many of this kind of accidents the family get torn to shreds, I really pity them, bring up a son for so many years and the poor guy ends up... every time I hear such news, it rips a part of me, and reminds me of the days when I was active and saw such things happening, and attended the funerals as well. Even to this day, after close to 25yrs out from service, I cannot forget those who left prematurely. Never will there be closure, not to family, relatives and friends.
