Adrianli Hypersonic August 14, 2012 Share August 14, 2012 the one i use in the boat i attached to is the DIY blow job type. don't think it is SOLAS.. in fact, quite koyak when they handed it to me. perhaps they keep the best to themselves and give the lousy ones to soldiers attached from elsewhere? If it is not SOLAS approved, someone's head will roll. I think it is up to the BOI to find out. These life vest has a annual service requirement. Thatz wat we do in the navy too. Kit exchange annually. But basic life vest design is to keep a person's head above water no matter which position he fell into the water. Recently, there is a Class requirement for life jackets regarding ppl weighing more than 100kg and waist of a certain diameter. Not too sure of the details, just scanning thru the articles. Asd78 Clutched August 14, 2012 Share August 14, 2012 jungle there so thick... what can the helicopter see? unless the guy manage to move himself to some landing zone...(provided he knows where it is) Drop in water and never make it out? i think most likely no hope liao... but kinda strange as if he is operating the boat alone, he should be somewhat a qualified and strong swimmer, (unless MINDEF c--k up SOP again) I rem when we were at mt biang, one of the guys fell down a slope and had to be helivac out.....spent 1-2 hrs to clear the vegetation for them to lower down the carrier....
