Yup. Nothing wrong for budget airlines. 

 

But scoot needs to stop trying to portray themselves as being more premium than a typical budget airline since they are no different.

 

Absolutely correct.

 

I am flying the same route and timing to Bangkok

 

and the price by Scoot is so much more than Tiger.

 

I accept all this is my fault. It was my suggestion for

 

Scoot to take over Tiger so that they have more pricing

 

power and they did exactly that and now charging me more.

 

I regret it now and wish I didn't give free corporate strategy advice.

Well i fly sq and many other airlines frequently and got this done. I dont know where you derive the basis of your initial comment from

fare price as low as possible and then screw you with the

The choice of scoot was made by tour agency not the traveller. Of course the cost of assigning seat is small change. But the principle of paying for programmer stupidity is just not acceptable

While i empathise with the logic of people in one booking seating together, isn't the extra $ for CONFIRMING the fact that my kids are seated with me  every time?

 

(I'm also partly claustrophobic, so i definitely need an aisle seat)

But if you book online on a budget airline, even if the 6 seats are all individual one pax seats, i don't see why anyone should complain.

Hope no delays for my TPE trip in November. Scoot had the most suitable flight timing for my kid friendly trip.

Same here, people complain about delays on CX and want to boycott CX and travel SQ.

 

That's good, so fewer people to fight with me for the super economy saver seats on CX.

I disagree with your point. Which passengers will make a group booking and expect to be seated away from each other? If you realised, airline booking system dont allow booking for kids to be done independently of the adult. The airline regulation also wants to ensure kids are taken care of by their own parents or guardians. So if they have the prerogative to split seating it already defeats this principle. And agency book a big group together, it will therefore follow that if they split this way, the kid will not end up with theie parents or guardians in somw instances.

 

Doesnt mean fly budget airlines have to suffer such stupidity? I hv flown on many other budget airlines and didnt have to go through this inconvenience.

I came back from Korea once and all the seats were taken except

 

for 4 all empty so when no one was looking I spread out on all 4

 

and slept all the way back to Singapore.

 

  

 

This is a very strange arrangement by many airlines. Sometimes they clamp everyone into a single row and leave the other rows empty. When 4 persons booked together, they will spread them into 2 rows instead of giving them the centre 4 seats. Maybe computer system override their decision. haha

Yes, that's the thing about promo CX tickets. I just put it on my calendar and do it during the online check in.

 

I actually prefer their A350 compared to SQ. Seats more comfortable.

So in a normal budget airline for 2 Adult, 2 children.

So if i don't book my seating before hand, someone would be angry that 1 pair (1A + 1C) seat at the front, 1 pair seat at the back of the aircraft?

Haha there you confirmed it that your expectation is very low bcos it is budget flight. I differ in expecting they had some common sense in that if they dont allow kids booking to be done singly then they should also return the favour by making sure the kids are allowed to sit with their parents. The principle of having the kid parents look after their kids is consistently practised

Haha yes they are afterall fictional. Dont forget american cultures are more independent where kids move out to stay on their own much younger than our kids in this part of the world.

Only last time SAF chartered flight gave that crappy excuse  reason that when we asked why cannot sit at the empty front (biz and first class) seats....
