Throttle2 Supersonic September 6, 2013 Author Share September 6, 2013 yeah but I see in sgcarmart they made a distinction between cayman 2.7 (which could be manual or auto) versus the cayman tiptronic (strictly auto) but also 2.7 litres...so no understand the reason for the overlap. Sgcarmart is no authority on Porsche. They sometimes anyhow tambah one ...
Kyrios Turbocharged September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 Sgcarmart is no authority on Porsche. They sometimes anyhow tambah one ... So ok does that mean that a Cayman Tip is the same as what they label as Cayman 2.7 (auto)? Seems like both are the same cars with about the same OMV as well. If there is a perceptible difference between the 2, is the difference found in the auto tranny they use?

The more important difference comes in 2009 when they dropped the PDK gearbox into the Cayman.

Yes both are basically the same. Edited September 9, 2013 by Throttle2

Wanted to add something really small, i've done some stuff already, well most of the major stuff. Techart/porsche pedals/set of floormats and maybe change my moveable tailwing to a carbon fibre version.
18000rpm Neutral Newbie September 11, 2013 Share September 11, 2013 Anyone need a front bumper for a Cayman (2007)? I have one from a Cayman S that I need to get rid of. Cheap.
Mamamia Clutched September 11, 2013 Share September 11, 2013 yeah but I see in sgcarmart they made a distinction between cayman 2.7 (which could be manual or auto) versus the cayman tiptronic (strictly auto) but also 2.7 litres...so no understand the reason for the overlap. There are basically 3 models. 987.1, 987.2 and 981. 987.1 is pre 2010. 2.7 and tiptronic GB. 987.2 is 2010 - 2012. 2.9. PDK aka DSG GB. Facelifted and butt lifted. 981 is 2012 onwards and is back to 2.7 and PDK. Total change from 987 models.

Techart/porsche pedals/set of floormats and maybe change my moveable tailwing to a carbon fibre version. One of the nicest simple "mods" i feel are the carbon fiber wing mirror covers. They are cheap <$200 a pair and really stands out if your car is not black. I have them on even though my car is black. Its an easy DIY mod which also protects the paint work of the wing mirrors from careless passers-by. ↡ Advertisement
