944 clutch action/position is knn in traffic. Didn't feel like wrx to me. Wrx stock is lighter. The seat and pedal position is different. 944 seat is also lower, so you are constantly pushing outwards almost horizontally with your leg instead of down and out on most other cars. (like my E34)

 

944 clutch also does not self adjust so the hook up varies according to clutch wear, but the brake and throttle and nicely positioned for easy heel toe. Fun on wkends, sucks in traffic jam.

 

 

Manual? Pretty much every 944 I see on sgcm seems to be auto, which saddens me a bit.

ya. test drove a 968 when i had the rx8. the rx8 clutch feel was so much better

yes its a manual...gives a lot of satisfaction every time I change gears!

 

would the Turbo ve a better engine ?

Hi guys do u think it's worth it to purchase a 10 year old 987 Cayman or Boxster? How are the maintenance costs like for an older Porsche?

 

I know some people say if you ask for costs, you'll probably can't afford but i'm really interested in one and looking around now hahaha

I would if I don't have kids and elderly to ferry.

 

12k depre for a sports car, why not right?

 

But sorry I can't help on costs cos I don't own any porker nao.

There's no such thing as a cheap porsche. You either pay upfront or slowly down the road.

But how bout 10 year old ones? Overall maintenance still okay? but i guess i'll still have to do my due diligence when choosing 1!

Get it checked thoroughly

I can give u a few mechs who can do that

 

My best pal boxster, 1996 is still running well
