Medical problem - headache

Recently I get frequent headaches (not the severe throbbing type); no giddiness.

Not sure if it is due to stress or late nights or due to the whiplash injury I suffered 1 year ago (specialist already diagnosed me as chronic) - still having neck pain.

Kinda of freaked out when I watch "On Call 36 Hours" showing on SCV weekdays 9pm seeing how headache symptoms suggest possible brain tumors.

Should I go for CT scan? I think it is very expensive? Can use Medisave? Is it bad for health to do CT scan?

Having frequent or on & off headache sometimes cannot be overlook. Most of the time it might lead to some underlying health problem. Better go for a complete scan and checks to play safe.

The manifestation of a headache can be multi pronged. First, assess if you are having any undue stress. This may be a factor. Headaches, commonly come in as migraine. Are you seeing the pc screen too much? Do take frequent breaks. If it were any serious like an aneurysm or what, you would have not been able to type this.

Also, see your vision, and whether any corrections required.

See a dr. No need CT scan, angio blah blah lah...too early

I suggest you go for the cheapest treatment first.

Take 2 days leave, tomorrow and Friday.

Go for a massage or spa.

Play your favorite sports game.

Most importantly, have enough sleep.

This treatment is for overwork, stress out, burn out, lack of rest.

Is your shoulder muscle very tight? As hard as a rock? Then a good massage to loosen up the muscle will help to stop the headache.

Wish you will be better by Monday.

Dr. won't like us... [laugh]

my fav point...never consulted a Dr for last 10 yrs. If i go jus ask prescription, etc....but never heed their CONsultation...muahahhaha...waste time.

Even if i need intervention, i dictate what needs to be done and tell them to go along that route

TS, on serious note, headache can be caused by various factors, just like what Radx said. go see doc and do some body screening; check blood pressure, etc.

if u haven't done any body screening check before, you can start now.

i had that on monday night and it gets worse when i missed my meals. The headache just gets worse when I work long hours looking at the screen on an empty tummy.

Think whether you are under a lot of stress. Stress can cause all sorts of problem. Few years ago I had this severe headache that cause very bad giddiness, felt like earth spinning, vomiting and heavy breathing. Doctor said it was due to stress. I always thought I was on top things at that time. Probably on the surface I was ok but psychologically, it was affecting my body.

Don't scare yourself too much first. Talk to your family doctor first and see whether you need more diagnosis.
