Agreed. But there's still one loophole which is quite hard to plug. Those applicants who are either self-employed or working for family-related businesses, who can happily fall within the 12k income limit during the time of application, and suddenly bust the limit right after they have bought their EC. HDB did a right move by considering the average salary over 2 or 3 years, but still it's possible for such "special employees" to comply.

There are solutions to address every issue on housing. And it can be done fairly too.

Too bad KBW does not know how. His subordinates will tell him it cannot be done. Its a big difference, "cannot be done" and "don't know how".

The typical Singaporean worker's way of looking at a problem. Just say "cannot be done", when actually they mean they "don't know how" to do it.

I'm not paid millions to teach him how. I'll just gloat at his failure. [:p]

using monthly salary to determine the entry criteria for applicant the fastest way out for a lazy administrator . it is such a blunt policy tool. even if they bother to use averages for the last few years, it still brings some problems of people who's average is marginally above the cap or below the cap, their differnece could only be due to seasonal variation or luck.

between outdoor terraces like balcony, patio etc vs living room vs bedroom.... i spend the least in living room..

you ask need people to complain meh? the problem is , since no one complain who is to say it is wrong or that it is right.. there will be people willing to pay more to have outdoor terraces and people willing to pay more for live in space.

if people mind the estuary then why is it sold out?

If every developer also stuff a giant sized balcony, buyers also lan lan right? Any sold out or non sold out condo will also have an elephant sized balcony, right?

What? Just bec estuary sold out means pple love big balconies? Then D'Leedon and interlace not sold out for so long means what? Pple don't like big balcony?

Like how any brand of infant formula is now almost 40 bucks a small tin and pple still buy, means what? Parents song song like to buy?

Your reasoning machiam like lightning style reasoning.

Pple complain means communism, pple don't complain means they sibei happy.

If the developer builds on the premise that the prospective buyers have 12k max income with only 20% dp ability and prices their condo accordingly, assuming 4% interest rate for 30 years, an EC unit should not cost more than $1,200,000 regardless of size.

Willing to splurge 2 million on a condo then go buy private condo lor. Not taxpayer subsidized condo.

Expectations of MP don't change but nowadays certain brand of MPs like to think they are doing God's work and publicly justify it that they can get much higher in the private sector or the recent paycut causes hardship to their families or paiseh to talk to CEOs.

So it's just natural that when you are paid so much higher (when benchmarked against the current population compared to the old guards' pay against the population then), there is little tolerance for mistakes?
