Is this also called the isofrane strap? Read online the arguments for and against the different kinds of straps for sub... Apparently NATO and Zulu are the most pleasing to the eye and isofrane got the thumbs down from most... Reason being the cutouts in the strap draws attention away from the watch and the overall look is messy.

Also, some purists gave the thumbs down for Sub Date on anything other than the bracelet, reason being the cyclops looks wrong on anything other than bracelet. The purists would only put the Sub No Date on NATO or Zulu. Something to do with the balanced symmetrical look of the dial, which the Sub Date does not have.

Anyway it's what makes the wearer happy.

No Dude, this is not isofrane strap.

This is a Tropic (natural) rubber strap which was an official Rolex Submariner option in the 60s.

Similar to the Daydate which had a croco skin strap option then.

I really like the feel and comfort. Not too soft and not overly hard.

The isofrane straps looks better for omegas and tags. Not Rolex.

Yes, nato or zulu straps are nice with the Sub.

I had the james bond strap on my sub for quite a long while, until it started to stink so swop back to this Tropic strap....

I am not so purist so my sub date can go with straps.

Because PAM is BIG mah. lol

Not true lah. I know many PAM fans, who truly love their watches. Got gathering ok?

I am torn between PAM 372 & 449.

Any suggestions?

I ended up getting a 380 recently.

Quite a nice versatile watch. Got a modest black gator strap from kain hertitage to match it up [:)]

I am usually nearer to the asia square side, sitting outside Wendy's.

I wipe the tables in that section. Sibei siong, hot and tiring.... [:(]

Sent car for brake pad and disc replacement this morning, then went to the coffee shop downstairs for breakfast.

Saw not one but two older chew hu beng sitting at separate tables wearing Offshore.

You know the chew hu style of dressing: baggy round neck t shirt with stripe pattern tucked into tight jeans, track shoes.

Wahlaueh farking gross!

Yeah, the ROO tends to appeal to a certain group of people that not everyone finds endearing, although they are technically nice watches (some colour schemes aside).

The RO is the way to go, especially the blue dialed version.

Yeah man... a few years ago, this certain group of people would have worn stuff like gold day-date and half-gold submariner... hahaha!

I like the older 39mm steel RO (ref 15202 with JLC inside), but I really like the ROC, especially with the white dial... that watch really grabs me.. really class. Can't find a good pre-owned unpolished example though. The brand new price of the ROC is too close to the brand new price of the base standard ROO.... too close for my liking anyway.
