Kar_lover Supercharged July 1, 2013 Share July 1, 2013 Never liked Breitling. Too messy designs Some maybe but not all lah....in particular I think the Bentley ones are quite bad, the others I guess it depends on the complications....but to me the Avenger I bought and the SO Chronograph II and SOH are all not any messier than other chornographs like Carrera, Aquatimer, etc. And talk about messy, I really hate Hublot's King Power series.... The bezel design is messy and the face font and colors are neither stylish nor exciting nor classic. The bracelet adds to the mess and the overall quality just doesnt make it for me. But just buy what you like. And stand by it . I hope you dont feel offended. It's just my opinion and it differs from each individual. Most importantly, you enjoy your watch. Cheers

I just bought an old standard-issue Sub Date non-ceramic and an old 38mm IWC pilot Mark XV bracelet on impulse. And have been enjoying wearing them every day. These are life's simple pleasures, stainless steel, workhorse movements, tough as nails, no pretensions, fit well under the cuffs. I am beginning to get turned off watches that are bigger than 40mm in size.
Viceroymenthol 6th Gear July 1, 2013 Share July 1, 2013 I think big bang is ok. Although my wife wears one, I am beginning to feel disgusted by them. Show me a guy wearing a Big Bang with office clothes and I'll show you a poseur and douchebag.
Viceroymenthol 6th Gear July 1, 2013 Share July 1, 2013 I propose a sub category: Brands with a "douch-ey" image - Richard Mille, Frank Muller, Robert Dubuis, Hublot, Panerai, any watch jointly marketed with cars or celebrities like Panerai/Ferrari, AP/Schumacher...etc. Technically nice watches but mostly worn by people who like Ed Hardy fashion. Brands with an "un-douch-ey" image would include Lange, FP Journe, NOMOS...etc. Although some brands have a respectable image, they have models that are extremely douch-ey. AP has plenty of those in their ROO range. Bro, I totally agree with you. I have been there, done that, and now I have put my douchey past behind me. There are new douchebags coming out of the woodwork all the time: the smug, smarmy a-----es strutting around town with a basic entry level Offshore/Pam/Hublot on their wrists, thinking that they have "arrived". I would not say the same for the people who wear Richard Mille though. RM has not yet attained the state of instant recognizance as the other douche brands have, so for these RM wearers it is more of a self-satisfaction thing instead of the "hey look at me" motivation. Kar_lover Supercharged July 2, 2013 Share July 2, 2013 I am with you..a fan of Breitling...I have the Chronomat. You bot urs from the Palais boutique? Nope, got it from Sincere@Scotts. I don't think the boutique had the Avenger. They are already carrying all the Avenger II. Anyway boutiques give significantly less discount :X I can't afford Chronomat haha
