Can some experienced bros here provide a hierarchy of swiss watches in terms of overall perceived atasness, prestige as a buying guide for me? [:p]

Examples of some stratospheric brands..Vacheron Constantin, Ulysse Nardin etc

High Tier: Patek, Frank Mueller?

Upper Mid Tier..Rolex

Mid tier brands..Tag, Omega

Lower Mid Tier..Ball, Raymond Weil

Entry level swiss...?? Victorinox?

Thanks

tag maybe lower mid tier or omega belong to upper mid tier.

tag entry level 1k plus can get unlike omega about 4k plus for men watches. omega also have 40+k watches unlike tag about 10k plus most ex i ever seen

I propose a sub category:

Brands with a "douch-ey" image - Richard Mille, Frank Muller, Robert Dubuis, Hublot, Panerai, any watch jointly marketed with cars or celebrities like Panerai/Ferrari, AP/Schumacher...etc. Technically nice watches but mostly worn by people who like Ed Hardy fashion.

Brands with an "un-douch-ey" image would include Lange, FP Journe, NOMOS...etc.

Although some brands have a respectable image, they have models that are extremely douch-ey. AP has plenty of those in their ROO range.

buy what you like lah

why spend so much money just to impress people?

what works for you may not work for others

that's why there are so many different brands and models

live for yourself not for others. you can't please them all.

If buying hard to find type of watches from overseas, how much to pay for GST or customs? Anyone knows?

if price is above $400, you just pay 7% gst on total cost including shpping.

there is no duty payable for watches

He just needs the watch to get the girls after that can sell the watch away.

[idea]

Maybe we can start watch renting business since there is already branded bag renting business.?

7% is quite substantial if the watch is tens of thousands. unless very rare, better to buy locally
