Is Chrono24 truly reliable?

Honestly a bit scared to deal with online merchants , worry got no recourse.

Will look through carefully.

Any experience to share?

 

Chrono 24 is just an online marketplace for European dealers, with some US and HK/Taiwanese ones as well.

 

These are not online merchants. These are real watch dealers with physical shops in their cities. They are the same as our Hobbylink, Passions, Visiotime, Watch Arena etc

 

Yup you have to do your own due dillegence.

 

When you filter your search, click the "scope of delivery" option and select "with papers". I wouldn't buy anything without papers.

 

Mode of payment is usually telegraphic transfer and seller will courier the package over with invoice after his bank receives the funds. Couriers like Fed Ex and DHL will pay GST to Singapore customs for you first then bill you later.

 

You can possibly get your watch within a week, depending on when your telegraphic transfer goes thru.

 

Like you said, buy the seller not the product. Usually the good dealers will have pictures of their shop and products on their corporate website plus you can google for customer reviews of their shops. Now with Google translate, European languages are easier to understand. Just so you feel better about dealing with them.

I dont think its gonna help much

The rubber simply breaks down over time.

Wearing it may keep it pliable but eventually after many years, it will harden .

Cheap rubber like casio, g shock etc...takes a matter of years.

 

The good ones can last more than 10yrs easily.

Also to clean with a little water and soap after wearing. The oil supposedly will corrode the rubber.

Its the opposite, i believe.

 

Do not use soap.

Just water and wipe dry.

 

Rubber does not quite corrode, it hardens and breaks up due to the brittleness.

WEnt to many forums and many owners kena same also.. the strap just fail at where the holes are. Like how you will tear a piece of rubber.

 

Just ordered one from UK... about 100sgd without buckle. :( If get locally from AD, its about $162.

Think what you can do is to try to wear it often. Casio not rubber, more like plastic.

Ah ok, thanks. Seems like if you don't wear it for a while, the rubber will harden up and break.
