Vinceng Turbocharged January 22, 2014 Share January 22, 2014 (edited) If you put that in car brand terms, most Singaporeans will choose brand over range. True. I see many Mercedes C180 1.6 on the road. C180 1.6 is now selling like the Corolla of yesteryear. Majority of car buyers prefer to pay $183K for a bottom range German marque, than just $164K (save almost $20K) for a top range Jap marque like Nissan Teana 2.5 & Mazda 2.5. Blackyv Turbocharged January 22, 2014 Share January 22, 2014 The same money gets me either: 1) An economy brand top range tyre, OR 2) A premium brand bottom range tyre Which would you choose? Whichever serve you better.. . I don't care about brand, I care about my pocket and butt feel.. So far, ku31 matches my Latio well... Never missed a grip before on wet or dry...Hehehe... Roberttan 5th Gear January 23, 2014 Share January 23, 2014 1 mans meat the othermans poison. each of every User has their priority Premium brand Company spent Money on R & D to improve their product to help their customer drive More pleasant and SAFER. Premium tyre does have Soft compound tyre which has very short tyre service life , and they only sold this kind of product to end user only through right dealer who knows their job is to make sure the Customer know what he Needs it for. in the market We have many choice you pick your choice enjoy your choice you wont go wrong but remember the choice is your choice be responsible of your choice too
Vinceng Turbocharged January 23, 2014 Share January 23, 2014 Haha... : ) You have your point but That makes Taxi companies highly irresponsible in using bottom of the line and unheard of China brands like Triangle and Wanda., endangering other road users. Roberttan 5th Gear July 12, 2014 Share July 12, 2014 For KU31, u can only see it on one side all only marked on 1 side , KU31 is not alone. but not sure KU31 come with any official warranty from local agent base on the marking, if 1 is in doubt can check with the shop you buy or ask the local agent for Official answer otherwise just ask for official invoice from the shop you buy
alex976 5th Gear July 12, 2014 Share July 12, 2014 2 yr or 40k of use or by 4 yr of production Totally agreed with your estimation as tyre compound hardens after approx. 2 years of road usage.
Vinceng Turbocharged August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 it is possible to burn more fuel on this kind of Budget tyre if you are running on better tyre before changed. Robert, You are so accurate in your comments. I just switched from Michelin PS3 to Kumho KU31. Travelled 1500+km over 3 tankfuls of petrol. Fuel consumption went up slightly. The Kumho is also noiser than my old Michelin. The Kumho KU31, which has only 1 ply polyester on the sidewall also displayed more bodyroll during cornering compared to the Michelin PS3, which has 2 ply polyester. Unable to take corners as fast on the Kumho. The Kumho also has high rolling resistence. The car does not roll so freely when I change to neutral gear to let the car glide to a stop to the red light ahead.
Imraneo Clutched August 29, 2014 Share August 29, 2014 Hi fellas. Just wanted to borrow this thread as I can't create a topic for now. My car seems to have negative camber and is wearing my tyres out unevenly. I'm sure this is a common problem: It's so bad that the inner material is showing and I'm planning to change tyres and get alignment done. Now my question is, is this camber adjustable? Can the tyre shop that does alignment do this adjustment? This tyre has been on for the past 2 years and If the camber adjustment costs alot (with camber kit and all) then I might just go with tyre replacement and alignment as my ride has 4 years left to it (Hyundai i30). Comments pls. Thanks!
Furrynadz 5th Gear August 29, 2014 Share August 29, 2014 what tyre size are u on why the inner part of the tyre like stretch looking like tyre too wide for rim , look more like buah inner fender than negative camber wear..the tyre gap to fender so big a cat can go in, how negative can the camber be Hi fellas. Else the same thing may happen to the new set of tyres as well.
Hamburger Hypersonic August 29, 2014 Share August 29, 2014 change and see from alignment measure how much negative camber there is. Anything above 1.2 is not ideal if its not lowered. Most front camber is not adjustable unless you install a camber kit.
