Osprey23 Turbocharged January 27, 2014 Author Share January 27, 2014 (edited) Biggest surprise and improvements is spurs. Sherwood proving to be a gd manager.I think Adebayor is making him looks good. Will see where he leads them end of season. At least for him, this window no need to worry. No need anymore player, just need to bring the best out of current crop. Separate news- Napoli could be ready to grant LFC's wish over midfielder Gokhan Inler - but only if LFC agree to send Agger the other way (Sportmediaset) Edited January 27, 2014 by Osprey23 ↡ Advertisement
Silver_blade Turbocharged January 27, 2014 Share January 27, 2014 I would have thought Liverpool will spend a little more to get the players they want to beef up the team in order to secure at least a 4th placing. I feel LFC is in a 'good' position to attract some good players with the 'track record' we the team is CL material having stayed among the top of the league. Not getting into CL next season means LS may leave but also more difficult to attract good players. I feel now is not the time to save that few £ and missed getting the kind of players that will help the team to finish top 4.

Seems to me they are trying to emulate value signings like Coutinho and Sturridge last year.
Shorty Turbocharged January 27, 2014 Share January 27, 2014 tell them not everyday is sunday. failure to get to UCL will hv a downward spiral effect. not signing good players now will lead to that. n then, suarez will leave cos not in UCL n owners not showing that they willing to spend for that to happen. when suarez leaves, even with the money pool wont b able to attract other star players cos there's none left in the team. n down n down the team goes.... Fooblack Supercharged January 27, 2014 Share January 27, 2014 more so when the squad is so thin now..... Ya man. They dun even have enough midfielders to muster a usual 3 man midfield. If Allen dun make the squad for the Derby tomorrow, I think Everton may indeed dominate pool at anfield tomorrow night. They are playing well. ..can't say the same for Pool... Osprey23 Turbocharged January 27, 2014 Author Share January 27, 2014 (edited) Hearing again that Liverpool have offered £7m (8.5m) for Spartak Moscow midfielder Romulo. Club unwilling to match £10m pricetag. looks like he is the DM Pool is chasing now. A bit risky in my opinion Edited January 27, 2014 by Osprey23

Little_prince Supersonic January 27, 2014 Share January 27, 2014 Another Brazilian ? Heard pretty injury prone and largely unproven? ? style similar to paulinho. goal scoring midfielder. scored on debut after joining the russian team. also scored against barca before in champ league. was very highly rated young player. played in olympics. scored at old trafford against korea iirc. in short was very gd before his injury. just that need to ensure his knees checks out

Very good player before the injury but now, nobody knows. He is still young and so I am willing to gamble if price is right but he won't solve our immediate need for a DM. Will need time before getting match fitness.

Will need time before getting match fitness. that's the thing. have to gamble to fringe talents. since now no champ league to attact the big names. coutinho and sturridge paid off so far. hopefully romulo will too. he's more of a box to box mf type from the way i see it. probably a long term replacement for gerrard? doesnt seem like a lucas replacement. Hand on my heart, sad to say, I am not sure about FC....was good when he first came but seemed to have sizzled out a bit whereas DS still going strong... Shorty Turbocharged January 27, 2014 Share January 27, 2014 if it's up to me...if the particular player can solve the current prob the team is having, then worth to pay 2-3m abv budget. rather than not buying any DM and end up finishing below 4th...worse. star player gone, UCL money gone, ability to attract gd players all gone. Osprey23 Turbocharged January 27, 2014 Author Share January 27, 2014 Things are really hotting up. According to Portuguese paper A Bola, Manchester United are closing in on Porto midfielder Fernando. Now that would be another massive coup if they pull it off. Player is expected to extend Porto's contract but with an release clause to join Milan in the summer. ↡ Advertisement
