Regardless, someone is going to get this car. Even if he deregister the car, I don't think scrap yard is going to break apart a 5 year old car and take the parts. If they do, these "cursed" parts are going into somebody's car. And if they don't, they will export to some country which will then be sold.

Seems like that's the best option

5 year old car sure can sell better than just scrap value + 3k repair cost. Just see whether buyer know about this lemon issue or not.

You can put on quotz for dealers to bid, but when you fill in the form you must touch your heart abit. Haha.

Quotz only check for structural damage to the chassis . The rest all close one eye.

Coe will be in the new 40k region.

Just look at dealer price their car roughly knows.

So new k3 price wont be too far off.

Dealers all not willing to bid high,so how far can it go?

Dealers will not bid too high because the higher they bid the less margin they will have, they will bid at a level that they will secure a coe with decent margin. It is uber and grab who will bid high because they are in the rental business , they need cars as long as there is demand, so they will bid high and pass on the cost to the hirers.

Do the repair ... drive it till EOL and then NEVER EVER buy a VW again.

$3K or even $5K repair, whatever ... better than trade-in losses (used car dealer will sure take a cut of at least $10K from you)!

ððð

If its a lost of 5k vs 10k+.

I rather scrape.

Now repair is 5 k.

Next year leh?

Or next next year.

If a 5 year car is already lemon

Add 3 more year gonna be super lemon

Supposed to be the mini stringer ....

If can wait, I would say wait for the new model. Should be in Singapore this year.

I am impressed by the K3 Sports model that my friend bit recently .... Sun Roof, ventilated seats, touch screen etc .... very well specs.

I would say go for the basic or the Sports .... in between not 3 not 4.
