To some like the author in the story, it is like a conquest or a pride thing for him. Β Back in our ancestors days where polygyny are acceptable, that doesn't stop men from cheating and bring home more wives. Β (Religious groups have differing views on the legitimacy of polygyny. It is allowed in Islam and Confucianism, though in most areas today it is uncommon. Judaism, Christianity and Hinduism have allowed polygyny in the past, but it is prohibited today.) Β Personally, I also feel it is wrong to "curse" his family especially his wife and daughters to suffer the same fate to what he has committed.
