Grab/Ryde issues and charges

to be fair, uber makes sure you are aware of the surge multiplier at the moment that you are booking.

after you lock your position in via GPS and click the "book uberx" button, they will notify you of the current surge multiplier and ask you again to confirm you want a cab at the current pricing. IMHO, this is fair game since the commuter knows what he is getting himself in to.

there is hence no pity from me for those who took uber and are complaining about it now [shakehead]

I can confirm that too.

I clearly have to key 2.7 before i could book uber.

So is Uber still one of the best booking app?

Grabcar - which is within the Grabtaxi app. A lot of promo codes around. Fares are fixed before you book. So even if the driver brings you go Holland or caught in a traffic jam, will still pay the same. This is where it beats Uber hands down.

But always no drivers when you needed them...

I think Govt should seriously pursue working from home

one of these days when the big breakdown comes, whole economy paralysed

at least if there is a sizeable portion still working from home, work still can be done

Never try on this booking app, so thinking it is better and cheaper than taxi if i want a taxi during peak hours?!

Should be cheaper if you book the grabcar (within grabtaxi app). There alot of $8 or $5 off promos, go google for the codes. 1st timer $20 off i think.
