bellboy 4th Gear April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 I watched this video and found it amazing. Anyone tried letting babies dive underwater before? ↡ Advertisement
Vid Hypersonic April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 Been a long known fact that babies are good underwater. Just need to get them used to it in the beginning. Remember they were also "swimming" in the womb. It's also a good opportunity for mothers to bond with their babies during the swim.

I wonder since babies are good natural swimmers.. how come people will still drown since swimming is something you learn and cannot forget.. the video shows some baby struggling to get to the top.. looks kinda scary.. Know how to swim doesn't mean will not drown lah. Still need air to breathe and stamina to go the distant.
Valles Neutral Newbie April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 Babies indeed do know how to swim naturally... I brought my little girl to her very first swimming class when she was 6 months old... The moment my little girl enters the water, she naturally know how to kick her way around and substain her head above the water to breathe... However performance is per individual baby's comfort level with the environment and tolerance level of the water temperature, as I observed not all babies are acceptable of the sudden change of temperature. Nzy Twincharged April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 (edited) I have been bringing my 13 month old son to the pool regularly. The first time I put him in the water he started lying on his back and just floated around the pool. Edited April 7, 2014 by Nzy

Actually swimming can be forgotten without practice for many years, but I think the basics like breast stroke won't forget.
Lala81 Hypersonic April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 depends on the child. my girl took a few attempts to even stand on her feet in the pool. Think if u put her head underwater, she will scream and choke.
