Anyone knows how to validate if the fuse is manufactured to the correct rating ?

it will be a sacrificial test I guess

buy two of the same, test one with increasing current until it pops

then assume the other one is having the same rating as the first one 😁

Lately the choices for our tyres has shrunk. It seems like the 245/45/R17 is not a popular size. When I asked my regular shop, he offered me Michelins. I am currently on GY Asy 5, and am looking to change to Asy 6. Tyre shop man said must ask around as he has no ready GY stock. Comfort biased Michelin Primacy is not my preference while Pilot Sport is too expensive.

Searching sgcarmart's listings, it appears that choice locally in our size, for UHP tyre is limited. Some old CSC5, mid-range Dunlop and a Bridgestone Potenza. If push comes to shove, and my preferred Asy6  is no longer available, I will go for Bridgestone Potenza.

Any recommendation other than the above for performance tyres that are good in the wet, and below $220 per piece? Please let me know where to get and the approximate price

My grandkid dropped a 10cents clin into the cigarette lighter, when i discovered it the coin was so hot that the 15A fuse was blown. I have to buy a cheap 15A fuse to have is replaced (slot71 rear fuse box). The one on the left is the blown one.

Now the cigarette lighter is working again after the fuse is replaced.

I bought a whole bag of littelfuse which is what was originally installed. I guess no way to confirm unless you compare or buy new. Too bad I sold off the lot when I sold off my Mercedes.
bought from digikey or mouser I think

Confirm whether a fuse is damaged ? I would usually use my "eye power " to see if the fuse element  is brokern

Yes eye power. But for fuse rating then. You follow what is labeled. If you trust some of the Chinese ones.

Agree , this is what i am doubful as well,  even of the same color, maybe of much higher rating. Then how ? Plug and pray ? Even if we go buy from outside auto supply workshop, they may  be coming from the same china source?

if you make a trip to the scrap yard

you can get good quality fuses for very little money

but why you want to risk it with old crusty fuses. i replaced all my fuses with brand new littelfuse.

my rear sam was fried because a mech put an old fuse in for the fuel pump. it then melted and killed the whole rear sam.

@Spidey10 Shop recommendations please.

My regular shop to fit GY, Soon Huat just replied to me that GY-SG only left 2 pcs in our size. So my only hope now is some big shop may have ex-stock on hand.

If none available, then I have no choice but to go for Michelin PS5 (used PS4 before, grip is good but very short life. Not even 30k km. started to peel) or Bridgestone.
