Heard that Lukaku could be a potential target for Pool if the Bony deal falls through. What do you guys think?

Lukaku seems to be inconsistent to me. He can play well sometimes and can be totally out of the game at other times. Also, his first touch needs improving but he can be a beast of a player. I know the general consensus is that Chelsea will not sell to fellow EPL clubs but for discussion sake, u think he's better than Bony? Cost is about the same I believe.

Bony imo is a better player, in terms of technique and finishing. Also Bony is cheaper. If we decide not to go for Bony, unlikely we will be after Lukaku. In fact, I believe we have zero interest in him.

He might still end up in Liverpool if Everton get their way.

Porto have signed Bruno Martins Indi for 7.7mil. Probably we path the way for Mangala to move to Man City. After that, they will offload Matija Nastasic.

Sturridge on Sterling, Suarez leaving and his squad number:

Me & Sterling are close. To me, he’s my little brother & I look after him and try to help him as a footballer and as a person. It’s going to be great. Raheem is a great player. He’s young, but he’s got a lot of talent. Sterling's young & he is still improving. He’s already improved so much, which I am happy about, & he will continue to do that.

People have to step up. When stars leave, a new star can be born. It is a team game, regardless of whether there are star players within that team.

My name is Daniel Sturridge. I’ve got 15 letters in my name, and that number 15 has been good to me. I’ve never really been obsessed with specific shirt numbers. When I was younger I wanted to be No.10, then No.8, but as you grow up, you don’t get to choose, you have to wait your turn. I suppose now I am at the stage where I can select a number, but I don’t think I will take No.9 even if it is offered to me.

SAS is still intact. No.9 and 7 shirts are still up for grab then

Khedira to Arsenal very close now. His shirt removed from sale at club store.

Khedira + Sanchez --> Immediately puts them as contenders liao wor ..... How come they all buy so cheap (relatively) ah ? Liverpool buy all those 'potential' so expensive [dizzy]

Their wages may not be cheap. In excess of 150k pound per week upwards...

How can you say that? They are already title contenders last season. You must be considered as one if you spend half the season top of the league :D

Sanchez £32m plus Khedira £23m, total £55m. Sanchez £130kpw while Khedira still negotiating terms, likely asking for similar pay package. So over their entire contract period, the amount can be substantial.

Pool spending around the same on fees, Lambert £4m, Lallana £23m, Can £10m and Markovic £20m, total £57m but adding their wages might still be lesser than Arsenal's 2 new stars.

Although Can and Markovic are young, they will be heavily involve next season, especially Markovic. Too bad can't see him in action against Bronby tonight.

Arsenal were leading the EPL for the most weeks last season and in fact the team which led the league for the fewest weeks (Man City) won it eventually!

IMO, the same 4 (Che, Pool, City and Ars) will def be amongst the title chasers and I expect Man U to buck up as well under LVG. So 5 into 4 places won't go and who would be the odd one out?

Gunners got a couple of heavyweight signings assuming Khedira joins and so too did Che with Fab and Costa. United will undoubtedly get few heavyweights soon. Pool seem to be beefing up rather than signing heavyweights partly I guess that is BR strategy and also since they lacking in numbers. Man C keen on plugging their one weak link by signing a CB (Mangala?) to complete their already powerful squad + Fernando.

So all in all an interesting season ahead. The team with the new signings settling in quickest would have a head start I feel. Roll on 16/8!!

Also, Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins confirms inquiries have been made for Michel Vorm. Believed is from Liverpool.

Looks like after stripping Southampton, Liverpool is looking to strip Swansea next :D
