Tony Barrett from Times given a summary on Pool's activity but i can't find an online version for it. In gist:

 

1) BR is looking to bring in 5 more players;

2) offers for Lovren and Davies;

3) close to getting Origi;

4) Remy is now the target as Bony interest cools;

5) all the earlier signings are planned prior to Suarez sale, ie, proceed from the sale untouched

 

So we have 4 names from him.

 

Spurs bought 6-7 players when they sold Bale, Pool trying outdo Spurs?

Well, we signed 8 albeit 2 on loan last summer. So, we are just trying to outdo ourselves :)

 

Our squad still too thin. Further, expecting quite a few outgoing as well.

 

Btw, Express reported that Sami Khedira's protracted move to Arsenal is off due to excessive wage demands. Wenger's alternative is Morgan Schneiderlin.

 

Let's work together to strip Southampton. :D

5 more players?!?! too many isnt it? will be like when dalglish first took over n also like spurs when they sold bale. but, jus hope that out of the 8 or 9 players they wanna buy, only 2 or max 3 will b first 11. the rest to add squad depth.

I find it ok. Let's look at it this way.

 

Lambert replaced Aspas; Markovic replaced Moses; Lallana replaced Suarez and Can likely to replace Lucas.

 

Davies if signed, will replace Cissokho. Lovren likely to replace Agger. Remy might replace Borini while Origi will be loan back to Lille. Richards if sign, will replace Kolo.

 

So you see, we are just upgrading (apart from Suarez who cannot be upgraded lol), squad did not really swell by a lot.

 

I am still hoping for a big name. I stress, hoping only.

After signing Rio, QPR is now hoping to tie up Caulker. They might also move for Glen Johnson.

Ya, something like that. However, if those replaced players are not sold at the end, they will build the depth, not forgetting also the young players. Jordan Ibe. His time has come.

Reports from Spain saying Pool are after Atletico Madrid right-back Javier Manquillo. Likely a loan deal. Arsenal was interested in him too. Not sure if it is still the case after they signed Debuchy

The bite cost Suarez a move to Real Madrid. They were offering cash plus Isco which Pool were ready to accept.

 

With Real Madrid signing Kroos and James, Isco might be a surplus.

Agreed with you, bro :)

We are just "replacing" some fringe players with better quality players :)

On a whole, we are upgrading for the better :)

Better for 1st team as well as on our bench :)

Can't find any big name on the Reds' wishlist in today straits times paper.

The names there are what u guys have been talking about :(

Hopefully .... Hope and hope for a big name to come to pool.

No lah, Arsenal only one or two this window, coincidence. Spurs have been doing it for past few windows, different managers too. :D

With Davies going to Spurs and my trusted sources insisting Bertrand is happening, I really hope we will sign Moreno now.

 

Bertrand is willing to be back up but not Davies.
