4) safety first, not who got the right of way mentality, although I will curse and swear

5) residential area drive slowly and look out of people, animals, including irritating mynahs

How to use criuse control in Singapore.

Set to 80km/h, road hogging. Set 100km/h will be kissing people backside..

 

every road got speed limit wat (unless u on autobahn),

just set cruise control to limit+ a bit then keep left unless overtaking lor.

 

u mean when you use accelerator instead of cruise control then the speed is of no matter?

 

u want to vary speed?

 

cruise control got + and - and suspend, just use thumb control instead of foot; wat's so difficult?

Ever since about a month ago when I encountered my first ever serious radiator leak and calling for towing service, more problems came my way.

 

I have to contend with damaged bushings and squeaking noises, jammed brakes and warped front disc.

 

Within that period I also kanna $150 and 6 demerit points, on a quiet Sunday morning rushing to fetch my parents to my sis baby shower.

 

Spend quite an amount of time in the workshop, and catching up with work.

 

Now the car appears to be OK but the car never felt the same again. It felt muted, quiet or perhaps it is me reaching 40 years of age and struggling with a painful right heel.

 

Is it because I drove too much and stressed the right heel endlessly? Or is it because a couple of months I landed hard on my right leg cos I missed a step going down the stairs?

 

Now I just coast around, feeling apprehensive about the car and the way I drive. Now I just feel like nursing my car till its ripe old age of 20.

 

Dunno how long this me is going to last.

 

 

 

 

Yah,... nowsadays,... "they" like to catch you on weekends (especially SUNs) when you're kinda off your guard and thinking you can "cruise"...

 

Be thankful you still gotta ride,... not so easy to maintain one now.

I will do that when I am in slow mode....lock onto slow moving vehicles and draft them all the way in the slow lane...that way nobody can say I hogging.

 

SG no more slow lane. LAne 1 to 4 and sometime emergency lane all also fast and furious. Be it the Y plate lorry up to the X plate tipper and crane vehicle all so drive like speed limit = minimum speed required. Very chaotic only MID are the law abiding one a very small percentage of car.

 

Bro no need so extreme and put these restriction upon yourself, just leave early and give yourself ample time to reach your destination stress free is most important.

Since I kena 6 pts + $150 fine, I driving like a mouse.. somemore it was during my P plate time and I just bought my first car, with 10 yrs loan then!!! Anyway, always drive defensively and check your blind spots, you should be safe.

Sometimes all bad things just happen simultaneously or concurrently, bobian, that's life. But after u get over them, sometimes old nature do come back if u don't keep them in chk.

 

After total lost last yr n chg of reporting superior this yr, I also felt kinda weary. Last yr used to like turbo charged car, but after incident not so anymore.

Its close to another two weeks...I am still driving slow, in fact slower as I found out last week I had a left rear brake pump leakage and worn out clutch...yeah my clutch pedal is as high as a lorry's.

 

Have to wait for about 6 days to get the spares and a slot in my designated garage while all the time I have to feather the throttle as any abrupt application of throttle will generate clutch slip...well yeah for almost one week I felt like I am driving a 80BHP car with CVT transmission as changing of gear does not any more give you the ummph...whether be it up or down gear.

 

So today the old man is in the operating theater. Hopefully it will be the last major operations in recent weeks before its time its up.
