Technically, LTA give you a 1 Month Cooling Off time for you to think if you want to scrap or extend, the flip side is if you decide to extend COE, you will be charged with a Late Renewal fine of $50-$250 depending on Capacity of car and ownership type. Of cos if after 30days if you decide to scrap it, tow it to scrapyard and go to LTA to submit dereg form and wait for PARF to be paid out.

 

 

For those who keep saying last day must scrap, pls read up and stop giving others misleading information.

I'm collecting my new car likely this weekend or early next week, and have a Ford Focus to let go, for short-term (just less than 2 mth) use.

 

Body value is $200, so with 50+ days to go (based on tentative date of 26 Apr), the scrap value is $9010. Can drive to scrap without any problem (by my own guess, but i can't guarantee lah, obviously... )

 

Am looking at $9700 if anyone is interested.

Anybody keen to take over and renew Nissan Sunny 1.6A?

 

It is in very good mechanical condition, paint job and bumper not so good that's all. Previously maintained at Tan Chong.

 

Mileage 120k, COE expiring in May. Not intending to profit but just seeing if anybody keen to keep this car as it is a reliable workhorse. FC is a bit high, 10-11km/L. Otherwise will just send to scrap

I think Korean car not able to fetch a good value....drove to Kheng Keng scrap yard and got paid only $150 for the body (with a flat car battery) plus PARF rebate (LTA). Drove till the last day.

LTA appointed scrap yards don't care about the brands or models, their pricings are based on engine size
