"This peak-and trough situation is not good, said experts and car dealers, as it causes too much uncertainty in the market.

For instance, the rise in COE supply in the last two quarters this year, compared to the same period last year, has pushed down COE prices for small cars from $66,010 in January to $56,209 at the last bidding early this month.

Similarly, COE prices for luxury cars fell from $75,289 to $60,789."

Ya right. Not Good. I say Super GOOD!

LTA has jz released the dereg figures for Aug.

not so good news, the number of actual dereg was not meeting the target.

the quota for next quarter (to b announced in mid Oct) is likely to stay flat. ie. +-2%.

still mths away frm tsunami... [lipsrsealed]

Just looked at the actual figures from onemotoring, in fact i predict a very slight decrease in next quarter quota. But i still believe coe will go down slightly due to factors like economy down.

Seems like dealers pricing expect market to hold or drop slightly.

oh dear, i think LTA made a mistake in the Cat A figure for current quarter.

it shown 3273, but it shld b 3373.

so there is a decrease frm 3373 to 3313.

it means Cat A down 1.8% or 30 less Cat A per bid. [grin]

LTA quite silly, should take out some quota from CAT B/E put to CAT A, at least retain CATA flat,

CAT B/E majorly are rich ppls playing, don't mind its shot to sky high

Flat A was no surprise but a flat B is. Is the COE re-new number published? Many also renewing Cat B cars?
