Wt_know Supersonic December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 if govt can send billions and billions every year on their defense budget, making this happen is sup sup water it's all about profit margin ... as i posted earlier, for the past 10 years, all inovation and improvement in aviation especially plane is targeting revenue generation ... making the plane lighter, travel faster, pack more seats, filty luxury first class with bed and shower, etc Think a much easier way... instead of having 3 to 4 hundred of parachute for all the passenger... why not just having a few big parachute for the plane... When the plane get into distress... the wing will dislodge from the main body... left only the plane body...then at certain altitude, the parachute open.... Space shutter re-entering the earth, it did the same... of course... it is much easier to say then done...
Sosaria Twincharged December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 Interestingly though, and off-topic a bit, but since we're discussing parachute jump from airliners... there was one case, still an unresolved mystery up till today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._B._Cooper This guy jumped from a Boeing 727's gravity-deployed rear airstairs, with USD 200,000 and presumably with a parachute (how else?) - until today, not known for sure what happen to him or the money. The place he jumped out was over the wilderness of the heavily-forested pacific northwest. But the aircraft was flying slower and lower than usual, in order for it all to be possible. Jman888 Moderator December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 Indonesia search chief says 3 bodies retrieved in hunt, not 40 AFP, AsiaOneTuesday, Dec 30, 2014 JAKARTA - Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency chief said Tuesday that just three bodies had been recovered so far in the search for the AirAsia plane which crashed in the Java Sea, after another official said 40 had been found. "Today we evacuated three bodies and they are now in the warship Bung Tomo," Bambang Soelistyo told a news conference in Jakarta, adding that they were two females and one male. Navy spokesman Manahan Simorangkir told AFP earlier that according to naval radio a warship had recovered more than 40 bodies from the sea. But he later said that report was a miscommunication by his staff. The hunt for a missing AirAsia passenger plane appeared at an end Tuesday as wreckage and bodies were spotted at sea off Indonesia, prompting raw scenes of emotion from sobbing relatives of the 162 people aboard. The Airbus A320-200 disappeared en route from Indonesia's second largest city Surabaya to Singapore during a storm early Sunday. All indications now are that it crashed in the Java Sea southwest of the island of Borneo, with debris including an exit door, a blue suitcase and bodies retrieved from the area. An air force plane saw a "shadow" on the seabed believed to be that of the missing Flight QZ8501, National Search and Rescue Agency chief Bambang Soelistyo told a news conference in Jakarta. Relatives of the missing hugged each other and burst into tears in Surabaya as they watched footage of one body floating in the sea on a television feed of Soelistyo's press conference. Knoobie Supercharged December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 Since QZ8501, there are already 3 incidents involving AA flights, including one. First one from Penang to Langkawi made a U-turn, another from BKK to Northern Thailand also made a U-turn! those U-turn planes.. have you thought that they are being extra cautious now? I would rather they U-turn than insist on going forth..

But at least we see Tony very much on the ball when the plane was initially reported as lost contact, and also the Indonesian authorities. Better than pretending that the plane was fine.

Darryn Turbocharged December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 Regarding the Malaysia secondary radar readings of the flight climb speed at 353kts. The possibility is the pilot could have been putting the aircraft in steep climb to get out of the weather. Guess the captain was trying to safe everyone lives till the last moment. Pray that the aircraft and black box will be located soon. Then there will be disclosure on what really happened. And full closure for the loves one. I thought I saw news that the black box already recovered?
Darryn Turbocharged December 31, 2014 Share December 31, 2014 how come the body only in underwear ... It's a terribly insensitive picture to be putting on the news and I don't see why so many are reposting it - how many would like it if it was their family members, and it adds absolutely nothing to the story. As to "why underwear" I would hypothosize three things 1) Loose clothing torn off due to wind / impact in accident 2) Person survived impact and removed clothes to swim better? 3) Most likely - she is wearing something that turns transparent when wet
