Not sure about this ... you are right .. the first few batches of the F30 are Made in Germany. Later batches Made in SA.

My previous E90 was Made in SA and my SE knows that I would prefer not to buy one that are Made in SA. I was advised that the 320 ED is Made in Germany and she would not lied to me.

I also heard that some W205 owners got lucky and their cars from AD are Made in Germany.

Is there any way to be sure if a car is really from Germany? Is it in the serial number?

I think the high performance models like 335i are from Germany, whereas SA builds the more 'normal' engine variants.

Hard to say though, mine was made in the regensburg Munich plant which surprised me, maybe if you indent options it goes thru a different factory?

Regensburg & Munich is 2 separate plant. The only common connection is both plant is in the state of Bavaria.

Other than ///M3, Pretoria produces the entire range of F30 for Asia Pacific export program.

Plug your VIN here to find out http://myvindecoder.com/

Most F30 including 335 are made in SA, generally newer launched models are made in Germany till the process is bedded before moving to SA.

Its hard to really tell if the car will be coming from SA or Germany, if you order from the PML stock list likely SA. If you do a indent with options or order a new launch model i,e 4 GC then probably Germany?

Yeap sorry I meant to say Regensburg plant, cut and paste from Google to my text box kok up (fat fingers). But seems some F30 from Asia Pacific do still come from Germany though, just pending on the order I guess
