Vinceng Turbocharged August 23, 2018 Share August 23, 2018 (edited) Guys is it ok to upsize the tyres on the car? I called a few tyre shops but they don't seem to have our sizes in stock. One guy advised me to upsize to 195 as he said that finding 185/55/R15 is very hard. He also told me that a lot of Attrage owners have upsized to bigger tyres, but still using the same rim. Is it possible to use the same rim for bigger tyres? Can someone knowlegable advise? There's more than enough options avail for 185/55R15 tyes if you know where to search. Think of Mycarforum merchants http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?app=sgcarstore&req=listprod&cat=4 Edited August 23, 2018 by Vinceng

Icecube7 1st Gear August 25, 2018 Share August 25, 2018 Curious where did you get the quote from? Our Asian models are unlike the European and American models where the wires are All there and just need to enable the feature in ETACS. For our model our ecu is different and so are the pin outs. One of our Indonesian bros have cracked the pin out and added his cruise control. We are missing just 2 Wires and the switch. I already have the switch and Have the ETACS decoder. Just havenât got the time to run the two wires and try it out. Got a quote from 7 garage on fb. Very nice guy but unfortunately too ex. Can't afford.
auto1701 2nd Gear August 25, 2018 Share August 25, 2018 Hi all, New here. Been studying the Attrage the past few weeks. Downgrading from a Korean 1.6A, so yes, will expect to lose power and more noise. Its a bummer the rear sits can't fold down though. My car is now 9.5km/l so any higher is an improvement! Just wondering for the noise, how come no one mentioned sound proofing ? I mean foam for the bonnet and engine compartment. Noise mats for internal and sound clad. All these should help the noise (though not the vibration?) I also looking at the Accent 1.4. Except for FC, better in all areas but also more expensive. Anyone compared between the 2 and bought one or the other? Thanks! :)

Anyone compared between the 2 and bought one or the other? Thanks! :) Hi Ive been driving my attrage for about 6000 km already. So far I still love this ride. The noise level is same as Honda HR-V, toyota CH-R, and other cars at that price range. So I would say its acceptable level and certainly not noiser. May not be as good as korean cars as I heard korean cars are ususally quieter due to sound proofing. Vibration wise is also same as other entry level japanese cars. Power wise...I'm still puzzled why people says it's underpowered. I can easily overtake cars when need arise and never once I felt the car is underpowered for normal usage (not for chasing cars or being chased by a T-Rex). Overall its an excellent choice for family use. And the best part is the amount of money saved, a huge advantage over those who bought branded cars. It does its job of transporting people from point A to point B in comfort, peace of mind at a really low cost. Makes me wonder buy branded car for what

D_orai 2nd Gear August 28, 2018 Share August 28, 2018 (edited) Was just wondering could the noise be from the original tyres? Yes very sure the tyres make the most difference in cabin noise. Just swapped out the original Potenza S001 tyres for new Yokohama AE-50 after 60000km of usage. Man, the difference in cabin noise is so obvious! Now the car is much more quieter and bearable over all road surfaces. Now, if only there was a way to reduce wind noise as easily... auto1701 2nd Gear August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 Hi guys, Yes, I am aware tyres make a difference and yes, Yokohama had the quietest tyres I have tested! I have insisted on them since my first car but unfortunately, current old car not using it because Yokohama no longer manufacture that size. The tyres also provide a softer ride too. But after a test drive, I do notice the engine noise is also quiet loud compared with my current car. The noise is similar to the old 1 litre Daihatsu Charades or old 1 litre Suzuki Swifts (not the current gen). So thinking anyone did any sound proofing... :)

TayWeeBeng Neutral Newbie August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 Hi,I am thinking of getting the attrage. We are currently driving the lancer glx, which is close to 14yr old. COE will end next yr since we only renew for 5 yrs. I have some qns: 1. Last time when we bought our lancer, we were given some discounts and free gifts since the sales girl is a friend of my father's friend. So is there still such things nowadays or all standard price and discount is also standard for everyone? 2. The price of COE during renewal was $30,000 for 5yrs. Now that it has dropped to almost half of its value, the sales girl told me that we should scrap it asap, is that so? Thanks! ↡ Advertisement
