I have suspect that the 1.5t civic will also have 10k servicing intervals like that 1.6na. Any bros can confirm this?

That should make it a gd buy! I can see a lot of potential in the 1.5t... for bros who like to mod their cars... plenty of mods coming along.

Not sure whether the same can be said for the 1.6na since this model is pretty niche in the world. Unless perhaps they reuse the mods from fd4?

Read my previous post on the piang incident in Malaysia.  I was told there are also a number of cases in Thailand.

Maybe best to hold back the mod for some time juz in case.

Maybe the thais overzhnged the 1.5t lol. but if u use it as it is, it should be fine.

Enjoy bro, and do share how it feels compared to the FD. It's made in Mexico, IIRC..

Will update bro.

Made in Portugal you mean. The Scirocco plant has never been in Mexico.

However per my agent, my factory add on was being done in Wolfsburg when I inquired about the status of my car.

To those bro who booked the new Civic 1.5RS, you may want to make a trip to Bolehland immediately upon delivery to REALLY uptune your car. These extra power is a big welcome since 172hp is still not powerful enough...  [laugh]

These extra power will also help you overlook the fact that the new Civic build quality is not as good as the FD... often touted as the last of the true great Civics...

In our hot Asian climate, additional servicing is necessary to prolong pistons and cams lifespan for direct injection turbo engines...every 5-7.5k is a good gauge

Where did you get that from? I've always serviced at the 10,000 km mark, using fully synthetic oil. Before I used mineral oil, it was the 5,000 km mark. My cars are driven for 10 years with no engine wear and tear... my dad's cars also the same... he's owned 5 cars and I have owned 4 cars... and our cars have all be serviced the same...

Race chip can improve fuel economy?

The video says 1L per 100km?

Turbocharged

Just saw a 10th generation specimen in carpark (probably 1.6L judging from the headlights) today.

...I dunno leh, somehow don't look so impressive in real life compare to the marketing boolshots

Buying a car is about yourself. What you feel about the car. Some people may like altis and like the drive of it (tbh really boring and no character) while some are more able to accept the comfort tradeoff for a nicer handling vehicle.

Even if you are not going crazy speeds or flying around a race track, in day to day driving, some enjoy the occassional acceleration or slightly above average speed of cornering while some may say a car is just a car.

It all boils down to individual preferences and needs. There are people who diedie only stick to conti brands or diedie only stick to jap brands and there are also people who feel that perceived better build quality of interior means it's a better car on a whole.

Everyone is different.

At the end of the day, go with your heart and buy the one you can afford and really want. It's a 10 year lifespan for your car. You can choose to enjoy that 10 years and not regret the decision that you bought it or you can choose to buy another car and lust for the one your heart really wants.

Well said bro. My heart goes with yer.

Race chip can improve fuel economy?

The video says 1L per 100km?

The race chip is just a piggback circuit board with a bespoke programming specially for the Civic 1.5RS... If u take a look at the video, it is really plug and play... just unplug all the connectors from the factory ECU box and connect to this box and it is done. The only challenge is where and how you mount this new box in the engine bay safety without falling off

I think what they meant is that with the signifcant increase in torque o/p, there is no need to rev the shit outta engine just to get big power. Not that the stock 1.5T is weak, but if significant extra torque o/p could be had at lower rpm range, it does make a much better drive be it a trip to the supermarket or down the NS highway. So when the driver don't need to rev till 5000-6000rpm to get the power, fuel is saved.

It is amazing the stock turbocharger setup can actually pull so much more power in reserve. 270NM of torque from a 1.5T is earth shaking no matter what...

Just hope the pistons can handle the signifcantly increased power... hahaha

220NM from 1.7k RPM.  So not early enough?

But 270NM is even better right?

Whoever would complain he has got too much power de? [laugh]  [laugh]

Honestly, i don't believe those number especially in city drive.  Hot air reduces the number.  That's why i still think the best mod for turbo car is bigger intercooler.  Not racechip.
