Then it’s weird. By now, the price for civic shd include the VES since the orders taken in now can only be registered and collected in jan 18. But the price is still in the 109k range, which is the same as last mth when orders taken will be registered and collected in Dec. My SE also say I must collect by Dec.

Means the SE give wrong info or smoke us consumers to pressure us to buy.

What I was told by a friend who went down showroom last week is that 1.5l turbo is registration in 2018 but 1.6l is possible to be registered in 2017 but depends on colours.

Guys, can I ask is it true that if we collect the cars after 31 Dec this year, we will have to pay for the costs for the vehicle emission tax is it? Please advise. Thanks.

Hi, just sign on the dotted line today for a Civic 1.6. Was told by the SE that as long as you sign on the dotted line before 31 Dec, the price is lock in and don’t have to pay the costs for the new VES tax which will be in effect 1st Jan. Even though my car collection is around end Jan or Feb 2018 :). Hope this information helps.

Congrats bro for signing. So my SE gave me the wrong idea abt the VES issue. I was given the wrong idea that I must collect my car by Dec 17 to avoid paying the tax and f I dun sign within that week, I will risk paying the VES cos collection of the cars is already up to Dec. Then I ask him sign I collect in jan or Feb cos I dun need the car urgently. He say no. Strictly must collect by 31 dec17...

Blame on my stupidity ah.. but the good thing is I got the $36k cow so pay lower for the 1.6 civic...

Good to see if indicated in fine print.. if not, ask SE to write this note in your contract, black and white

When comparing car, look at annual depreciation less FOC servicing and 5 year warranty value.

For example, 1.6NA,

car price = $103,000

FOC servicing 3 years = $2,100

5 year warranty value = $2,000 (additional over 3 year warranty)

PARF value = $10,250

Annual depreciation = $8865

Compare annual depreciation with other makes, then see if the difference in specification and features (space, fuel consumption, airbags, leather seats, cabin layout, solar film, recorder etc.) justify the difference in annual depreciation.

To each its own, buy a car within your financial means and the features you are looking for.

True, annual depreciation of less than $9k is reasonable in today's market. Some more it is a honda. Of course the finishes and design is very individual. I tested and almost signed on the dot. Not because the SE delayed to attend to another customer, I would have inked it 3 months back.

Hi,

Wanted to check, how long does you take to collect the car from KM? For me, I had booked and got my COE at first bidding last week but my SE told me that there is stock for the color i choose but the car will only be assembled in Dec and deliver to Singapore in January. Hence most likely i will only be able to collect the car early Feb which is around 3-4 months time  :o  :o

Any bros here who had booked also in October? Care to share?

Thanks.

3-4 months is ok.

I waited for almost 5 months last year.

I see, Just wondering why it takes so long since there is stocks.. Hope to be able to collect it earlier since already pay so much on the deposit part [laugh]

SE told you assembly time is Dec. So you are already waiting for the car to be built with waiting time of 2 months.

After that, shipping, testing and approval, fitting of ERP reader and other accessories, paperwork, etc, tale at least another month.

Assembled in Malaysia?

Not Thailand? [confused]

Yes, that what the SE told me.. I asked if possible to collect the car before CNY and he told me that no problem because the Malaysian factory worker will rush all the orders before the plant having a CNY shut down, so definitely Jan the car will come to SG.

Seems like the parts are made in Thailand and the cars are assembled in Malaysia Plant.
