Sorry new rims is 18” 8.5 et38.

question is can SUV use PS4 sedan tyre 245/50/18.? Since tyre loading is enough I wonder why they wanna differentiate sedan or SUV.

can advice?

245 is about right for 8.5J.

If there is difference in load index, need to adjust tyre pressure.

Since stock is 96 and new is 100, can maintain stock tyre pressure.

alright, so I recently changed out my PS4 (to Goodyear's F1A5) and I thought I give it a quick review

I am not a professional racer (not even someone who drives hard and fast) and many of these comments are subjective

car: Lexus IS250, size: 225/45/17 (front) 245/45/17 (rear) due to the stagger layout I did not do rotation for the tyres

wear: ~25k in the front (had a side wall puncture in both so I had to change them prematurely vs the rears); ~30k rear

  • honestly I probably should have changed the tyres earlier, didnt notice the wear in the rear until recently when the rear slipped when entering my place's MSCP
  • was not expecting to change them so fast though, from the looks of it the tyres worn down very quickly from 20+k onwards, again I am not a hard driver and I was expecting to get more life out of them, I do use the KJE almost everyday though and I find the roads there to be harsher

what I like:

  • they are probably the most popular tyre and not without reason, in terms of braking and holding/gripping onto the road dry/wet, the tyres really made the car feels planted.
  • comfort and noise: I had driven the hankook v12, the CC, and the yokohama v701..frankly the PS4 is up there in terms of noise and comfort and is proabably on par with the CC(which is a comfort tyre to begin with)
  • consistency: the thing about these advantage is that it pretty much remain throughout the life of the tyres, I do not feel the tyre ageing in terms of losing grip and its plantedness throughout and the noise probably got 15-20% worse which is more than reasonable

what I dont like:

  • wear life: again, not expecting to change tyre with 25k of use
  • response: for a tyre with "sports" in it, I was expecting a sportier feel. Probably due to the soft-"er" sidewall, the response of these tyres felt kind of sluggish..almost to the point where the car felt reluctant to turn..in fact I find it harder to "attack" the mscp particularly when comparing it to the F1A5 I am on now

overall, I will recommend these tyres for its overall balance that michelin has achieve with this tyres, UHP with comfort that last throughout its life. Probably not if you are looking for something sharper in handling for track (or just be a nuisance cutting in and out of traffic). They are more than sufficient for the everyday BnB user.

IS250 as far as I aware also wears out its tyres out fast.

What milege did you get with other tyre types?

I'm driving IS250 Too. Recently rotated my back tires (T001) to the front and replaced the back tires which was Dayton to another set of used CC6 Tires.

Gonna consider going for PS4 in 6 months time but due to RWD and the way I drive, I think I'm going to go for either Primacy 4 or CC6 as I know the tires don't last too long and tire noise quite obvious after a while.

IS250 should be staggered layout where rear tyres are wider size.

not possible to rotate back to front

Stock is250 is 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear. Both on 17x8 rims. So can easily swap to all 225/45/17.

My first set of tyres...gotten the car  3 years back..

But ya..after you mentioned this I went to do some reading and it does seem the case with higher wear on the inside which happen in my case too

My car both rear and front using same Width (225).

Do u have any issues with the speed or vsc? 1 of my mechanics suggested changing all to 245 (or 225) I can't rem, but at least u get to do some rotation

No issues, though the back is better with 245 as the rims are wider. So far I went 2 different mechanics, they said no issues. I just rotate to save some money since the tires is still in good condition though slightly hardened a little bit.

What is very important is that you do proper tire balancing + rotation and wheel alignment and pump in the correct tire pressure ; 240kPa for Front and 260kPa for rear. I hit 10K within 3 months so i think rotations will save me money and ensure even wear.
