The Pilot Sport range has earned a solid reputation, especially for its most versatile version which until now was the Pilot Sport 3, a tyre available on the market since 2010. To ensure continuity, the PS4 goes even further than its predecessor offering significant progress in several areas, mainly thanks to Michelin’s experience in racing. Driving pleasure Logically, the Pilot Sport 4 places the emphasis on driving sensations and pure efficiency. For this, its structure features a reinforced belt to keep any tyre deformation to a minimum and, as a result, improves driving precision, dynamic response and of course, the level of pure grip. Copyright © : Michelin Geared towards safety The PS4 is a tyre designed to equip passenger cars. As such, it must deliver an excellent level of safety in all weather conditions. Its new tread compound has been developed with this in mind, just like its wide grooves providing efficient water evacuation. However, the brief presentation did not provide any further information about this new Michelin tyre. We hope to compare it with other reference tyres in the high performance segment in the near future to truly evaluate its potential. Let’s hope it achieves its efficiency. Availability The Pilot Sport 4 will be available on the market in January 2016, and initially, only in 17- and 18-inch sizes. New sizes will be available later, and in particular, 19-inch sizes.     Bridgestone Potenza S007a

    Recently saw this post from Southeast Tyres and they have stocked up the new S007a tyres from Bridgestone. I went to their website and the tyres look quite amazing on the performance. However, I find the thread pattern a bit bland compared to RE003 and S001. Has anyone tried this tyre?

While we've not yet had the chance to drive on it, the independent German test body TUV have done their usual array of tests, and found that the new Goodyear has 2.6 metres shorter wet braking (9% better performance) and 1.3 metres shorter dry braking (4% better performance) than the average of the Michelin Pilot Sport 3, Bridgestone Potenza S001 and Continental Sport Contact 5. This is a tyre we're very excited about, so you can be sure we'll be reporting on the driving experience at the first opportunity. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 will be sold in 17 to 20 inches, covering 41 sizes. The tyre will be on the market in certain sizes now, with the majority of sizes on sale by March 2016. Press Release Goodyear announces its new summer tyre, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3: the Ultra-High Performance tyre that delivers shorter braking distance on dry & wet roads helping drivers to stay in control and ready to enjoy the journey. With proven Eagle family test wins and OE track record, it is Goodyear’s premium offering for outstanding braking performance, responsive handling and control in both dry and wet conditions. The Ultra High-Performance segment is clearly a growth market, with an expected compound annual growth rate from 2015 to 2020 of more than 3%². The market is expected to grow in this timeframe with more than 9 mil units². This is primarily driven by the growth of the car park in the C, D and E vehicle segments (medium, executive, large and luxury cars) that are increasingly fitted with UHP rated tyres. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 redefines tyre performance for powerful saloons and sports cars as well as their driver’s expectations. Significant efforts went into optimising the tyre for outstanding safety and performance. More than 36.000 engineering hours went into the development of the tyre, including over 5.000 tests, 1.200 tests on the road and 3.800 on five test locations in five countries, covering a total of 330,000 km. A key feature is the active braking technology increasing the contact surface and grip when braking, which allows for a shorter braking distance. Additionally, the new grip booster compound ensures increased grip during braking and handling and adhesive resin for stickiness delivers strong grip for shorter braking and performance handling on wet and dry roads. The new reinforced construction technology allows for steering precision and durability by delivering a stronger lightweight construction improving handling, cornering performance, tread wear and fuel efficiency. The independent TÜV Süd Benchmark Test ordered by Goodyear confirmed the key strengths of the tyre. The results show that the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 has a 2.6 metres shorter braking distance (9% better performance) on wet roads than the average of three main competitors. The braking distance on dry roads is 1.3 metres shorter (4% better performance) and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 demonstrates 4% better wet handling than the average of three main competitors. The results also show a 10.9 % better rolling resistance than the average of three main competitors and the tyre represents the second best rolling resistance performance of tyre brands tested. “We are very happy that the TÜV test confirms that Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 delivers leading results in the braking test, especially during more demanding situations such as rainfall” says Alexis Bortoluzzi, Goodyear Marketing Director Consumer EMEA. “After all, braking is the number one consumer need, and particularly critical for high performance car drivers.” The new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 will be available in 41 sizes in 17 to 20 inches starting as of December 2016, range will be completed with the majority of sizes by March 2016. - 2.6 metres shorter braking distance (9% better performance) on wet roads and 1.3 metres shorter braking distance (4% better performance) on dry roads compared to average performance of 3 latest designs from main competitors in UHP segment (Michelin Pilot Sport 3, Bridgestone Potenza S001, Continental Sport Contact 5).     Tyre and rim change in Sg Or MY

    Hi all, I am currently driving an Elantra on 15” stock tires. I have been reading both HWZ and MCF on this topic and would like to get everyone’s opinion: 1. The reason why I am considering upsizing my tire from 15” to 16” is to allow me to choose more tires. Currently based on the stock tires (195/65/15), I don’t have much choices. Based on some recommendation and my current tire, I am considering CPC5. But if I upsize, I can consider Primacy or PSS (I know the 2 types are totally different type). Should I upsize my tire? If I shouldn’t upsize, the next question wouldn’t be valid. 2. Based on what I have read, tires below 16” will be cheaper to get in MY. However, I am worried if I upsize, I will need to change my rim as well and I believe the rim will be the main cost of upsizing. Apologies for this troublesome question. If anyone can help me on this, it will be very very helpful.

    Maxxis Victra I-pro UHP

    Just returned this evening from short work trip. Was doing routine check on vehicle that younger brother used to pick me up from airport since it felt different (and borrowed when I was away); to my horror it is now fitted with: -205.45.ZR16 -Maxxis Victra I-pro UHP Apparently last week's rescue patch did not last, and he decided to change all four to the above at KH yesterday after 7pm. Stock was: -185.55.R16 -Bridgestone Turanza ER370 -26k mileage -one rear tyre patched twice, once 07'15 once last week. Sorry if this sounded like a rant, the only time I saw this brand was when watching EPL on those advert billboards. - Anyone remotely possibly using these with feedback to share? - He swiped supp card total $600, at $150 a piece, ripped off? - He did not check load index, any chance I can do a swap with top up if I go back to WS? Thanks for reading, losing sleep over this pffft.
  10. Hi, anyone knows or experience having installed with different tyre/tires compound on the car even though tires of the same brand? Recently I went back to the same tyre shop that I have patronized for last 3 years but this round, I got bad experience as the tyre were installed with different compound. (Initially all MO and rear tyres need to replaced. It was replaced with 1 N2 and 1 AM8 by KH tyre shop!! at ubi) less than 2weeks, I realised the drive was different esp. on corner and wet floor (these few days raining). I started making inquiry and read a lot online and I understand that its important not to have mix component. I went back to the tyre shop and damn unscrupulous owner gave lots of excuse. **shall elaborate the excuses given by the scheming tyre shop owner** sucks, bulls**t excuses I was told if any accident with root cause related to the tyre will have the insurance void as the tyres were not meant to be mixed! apart from this important factor. All bro, can tell me what to do?? any advice and action that I can take?
