@Gnahp the rear brake pads got sensor on your car?

so far my experience owning W245, W204 and W213 all brake pads wear sensor only 1 at driver side. So usually once sensor sending brake wear limit all 4 sets of pads need to be replaced.

@Knighthunter  Very logical ,as far as preventive maintenance is concern . As for the owner , he or she will save time and labour charges in one go. Off course many car owners love to do replacement on piecemeal basis hopefully to use the parts to the max live and spread out the higher repair bill.

when I went through the list of tools for the brake job

I realised my loctite are chao sng (expired) since a long time ago

the oldest bottle can be dated back to 2005

went to my usual loctite shop along Jalan Besar, only to find out it is a KTV now

went to two shops, no one sells 10ml bottle

bo bian bought the 50ml bottle

some brake rotor has directional cooling vanes

rotorvanes.jpg.4448d87e759ac06c932570ee66ae0e66.jpg

they came in RIGHT & LEFT rotor in the set

got to pay attention not to install them on the wrong side

the one on my wife's car are unidirectional, meaning the cooling vanes in the ventilated rotor are straight, so no issue

Hi all, what's a reasonable cost to replace all 4 rotors and pads + replace new brake fluid? Bring my own parts and fluid.

got quotes $200-300 labour for just change all rotors & pads

I continue to drive for a month/2500km after the "brake pad change" message appeared

I think this is pretty much how far you can stretch it, before risking metal to metal contact

old rotors out without much drama

unlike the W204, that car required some serious persuasion of a big heavy hammer

will take some measurements for record before I throw them away
