Thanks for the suggestion! May I know how the handling has improved? [:)]

Reduce flex when negotiating a round/curved bend especially the car is long and drives with much confidence. Handling and turning is much shaper.

Came from hatchback so this little improvement to camry is a welcome, at least for me.

(Of course still can't come close to the hatchback I drove before)

I've been wondering how come you guys driving the 2016 2.5 Camry can achieve more than 10km/l?

(Do you guys really driving gently on the Camry? Or am I missing anything?)

Have been driving it for 9 months, and I NEVER EVER even achieve more than 8.5Km/l, just NEVER. So disappointed in the FC department.

Me came from Golf (twin-charge) and drove pretty aggressive and used turbo pretty often also can hit >9km/l, but not in the Camry I'm driving even though my driving style has been toned down a lot. Same 95 grade petrol, same ratio 20% highway; 80% city/town.

OK I understood the capacity is different 1.4 vs 2.5; I understood the weight is different too, but comparing to you guys here for the same ride, my FC is really way out.

Have been puzzling me for a long while. The last I checked with Borneo Motor service center, they told me FC should get better after 40,000KM! I couldn't believe it! I think their explanation is crap!

Welcome to driving 2.0/2.5 L cars... don't expect better than 10-11 km/L. For better fuel consumption like 12-13 km/L, you have to do at least 75% highway with smooth flowing traffic. With your 20% highway, plus a 2.5 L engine, getting 8.5 km/J is quite an achievement.

Hi Camry owners, may I seek your views on the engine, road and wind noises when driving your Camry on highways, as I were not able to test drive the car onto expressway? I understand that this can be rather subjective or depend on your previous rides in comparison, so if you have tried other mid-size sedans such as Accord, Teana and Madza 6, how do you find their relative cabin quietness? Thanks for your feedback!

If you buy from Borneo, why can't you test drive onto expressway? They allow you to go whever you want. Highway best for them as it showcase Camry strengths.

Teana and Camry are sama sama in terms of cabin noise, but I thought Tan Chong no longer bring in Teana?

Mazda 6 is EXTREMELY noisy compared to camry and the rest. Test drive it to understand what the Mazda SE calls "sportiness".

Thanks for your feedback! Perhaps I should ask to drive onto expressway next time; so far I've always been following the standard routes guided by the SEs.

TC is still marketing Teana; you can still find the model in their website.

Are you referring to 2017 Mazda 6 claimed extremely noisy?

Yes, I drove the Mazda for nine years and it's quite noisy on highways especially. Wind and tire noise mostly, but it handles well and like most Japanese cars it's reliable. I put on 250 thousand km and never had any trouble with it , except for the AC compressor which gave way a month before I sold it. I dont know why they still haven't adequately resolved the excessive noise issue til today. Separately, TC is still selling the Teana, but apparently only the 2l version.

Do you guys apply a layer of sealant to protect the gloss, shine, etc? Any workshop recommendations?

Yes. Not a bad idea to get it done, i feel. There are lots of places that do it, although I don't know of any one that's better than another. Obviously, they all claim to be good at what they do. Prices vary from place to place. I paid about 400 to get mine done. They said it's a glass coating. TBH I wouldn't know the difference between glass, ceramic , diamond etc. Supposed to last for up to three years, but you still have to keep up basic maintenance like being vigilant about wiping off bird poop, tree sap etc, and washing it a least once a week.

Read your insightful reviews on Teana, 6, Optima and Legacy. Will you be posting one on Camry? :)
