hi Doc long time since the subaru forum. ya, 70% like to eat prawn..my feel is this will go to puppy. 

 

Based on the MIW model:
1) you will have to pay Vid $$$, and then 2) Vid will take the money, write up a proposal to buy and start a prawn farm,
3) then he will come tell you that you can enjoy a 3yr free membership to the prawn farm only if he wins.
4) if he loses, the $$$ is still his.

Better think carefully... But most people will choose prawn

One of the worst tragedy and best con jobs in political history has to be the MIW convincing a very significant chunk of the voters that elections are about town councils.

 

With their total control of PA, RC,ability to control public funds as pap party petty cash... and even when all else fails, use the AIM tactic or simply install the losing candidate as the phantom power. What kind of democracy is this and why bother having elections? ?

Its obviously just a way to divert attention from national issues.

 

And for those with longer memories, these estate issues were not run this way back in the 80s. Why pay civil servants and ministers so much now to do so much less?

 

As for the argument that running a TC is important for running as MP. Why? ??

 

Ex.

Defence has the highest budget. Shouldn't MP then run their own militias ?

 

Singapore will go to war over water supplies. . Shouldn't MP run their own water supplies?

 

When and how will the change come. .

Defence Budget highest. But we are still at rank 64. We need to increase Defence Budget.

The People’s Action Party (PAP) candidate for the upcoming Bukit Batok by-election, Murali Pillai, revealed a $1.9 million proposal to upgrade a precinct in the area on Sunday (24 April).

 

Speaking to reporters at the PAP Bukit Batok Branch, the 47-year-old lawyer said the proposed upgrading will include a new 3-Generation Park and covered linkways in the precinct of Blocks 140 to 149 at Bukit Batok West Avenue 4.

What do you expect them to say? something like " I will clear the rats once and for all" or " Wendies will be safe with me, but I cannot guarantee Maries and Irenies the same thing" ...LOL

Singapore politics are very predictable. One party rules regardless there's an adulterous mp or two, whether who will win in the by-election. Why waste time unless the residents at BB are very keen on upgrading works?

 

One thing ppl and CSJ fail to realise. Having an additional opposition seat in the parliment is not going to make any significant changes. Reason being whatever coming from the opposition is seen as a challenge, right ear in left ear out. Whatever criticism or even suggestions will not be put into consideration. It will make the whole excercise look like a waste of votes for that alternate voice.

 

If ppl want to see changes it's most definitely not voting for an opposition party member or opposition parties for that fact. The ruling party has been at helm for too long....unless their leadership ability is put to the test. Which probably mean Singapore will have to go thru something really bad. I do not think it will happen anytime soon.

I read somewhere what LKY once said, but I can't remember where and when. It goes something like, "in order for the younger generation leaders to work better, and for the people to realize what the PAP has done, Singapore need to have a change of government for a short period of time, but that is too big a risk for anyone".

 

He knew what has to be done, but who dare take that risk.

That's not one of the worst tragedy. The worst is Singaporeans buying it and believing it and voting for it
