I went to Seat showroom last Saturday and managed to check out their entire line.

Interestingly, apart from all 4 models listed in sgcarmart, there are 2 door Leon AT selling for $100k, Leon wagon 1.6 TDI MT selling for $112k and Leon wagon 2.0 TDI MT selling for $122k.

According to SE, Vertex only brought one and only for each of those models and won't bring those models anymore unless by indent basis.

I really tempted to get the wagon variant

I suspect that it would be priced at around $130k plus with a promotion for a limited period, depending on the strength of the euro and the specs they bring in.

The road tax for a 2.0 diesel won't be cheap though, about 2k I think per year. For someone who lives in the East and works in Tuas, this will be earned back easily but higher mileage means higher maintenance too. Two sides to every coin.

Looking forward to the Ateca SUV.............

Alhambra is not a cheap car, and especially not the 2.0 TDI. I forsee a price of at least $155-160k.

For the Leon ST 1.6tdi, if that is the ecomotive engine, then it should have a 30k CEVS rebate. For that kinda of pricing, should be equipped with LED headlamps to make it attractive.

Just curious, how did you derive the figure of 30k CEVS rebate?

Probably would be priced against Golf GTi or Golf R or S3... I can't remember which one the Cupra lines are closer to

Leon Cupra R should be compared with the Golf R...

290bhp vs 280bhp respectively.

New Sharan is using 6 speed wet DSG and newer Euro 6 2l GTi. Quite tempted :)

The Alhambra is also using 6spd wet clutch DSG and Euro 6 engine ^_^

They would need a Distinct price advantage against competitors, being a 'new' brand in Spore.

If the Ibiza and Leon are priced at Nissan Note and Almera pricing, sure will sell like hot cakes and revive the Seat brand here.

Based on manufacturer specs for CO2 emission of 94g/km for 1.6tdi ecomotive, it shd have a 30k CEVS rebate. Not sure whether LTA test every new car model for CO2 emission now, if they do, the rebate may be lower.

Hi Bro,

Pricing is quite acceptable.

So the range is mostly diesel? Any more specs to reveal with regards to say the Ibiza?

I dont think you can test drive it, as that is the only unit available for sale and currently is displayed inside their showroom.

Only Ibiza, 5D Leon, Toledo and Alhambra were seen outside their showroom ready for testdrive

It must be reminded that seat is more a budget brand than any other things.

Price it wrongly and it will cease to exist like it used to.

Seat is not a budget brand, that role actually goes to Skoda. Its more your perception than reality. Thats why if they price it too low, it could be a hole they cannot crawl out of, and if too high, steps on VW's toes.

agree... just price high and give overtrade or rebate and still achieve what is needed.

Yeah SEAT is not a budget brand. They may need to be careful with how they want to cultivate their image here.

In Europe SEAT is the sporty brand of VW Group. Like Alfa is to Fiat.
