Neuer is dam bloody good. The sloppy back pass that exposed his leftback, wah the speed he sprinted out to clear the ball is phenomenal for a keeper. I don't think even most outfield players can move that fast.

 

He's the only GK in the world who reads the danger and moves that fast.

Playing with him is macham like having a sweeper cum goal keeper at your back. He's easily the best GK in the world. Courtois, Loris and De Gea are just going to be in his shadow for the next 10 years.

 

The only one i would compare him with, is the ageing Buffon, who is a legend on his own. Been seeing his name for ages now. He was already one of the best when Oliver Kahn was playing, followed by Jens Lehmann, all before Neuer. And he's still around.

 

How come Italy have all the old old very good keepers? Last one was Dino Zoff who was 40 when his team that didn't win any match in group stage, but went on to win the world cup...

 

Talking of which, any chance Portugal might do an Italy? So far not likely...

I am with @Othello on this. Maradona is not just a great player, he is a great captain and always sacrifice himself and be there for his team mates. Messi is only captain because he is undroppable, not because he can lead. He doesnt even speak much! Mash should be the captain instead. And his team mates mostly top players in their own right cant perform when it matters. Maybe what Argentina lack is a great coach who can really motivate and gel the players and tactically good.

Agree. I first saw Maradona in 82 world cup and the only way to stop him was to kick and foul him. And the referees during that time were damn lenient with the defenders and the tackling. 

So here is how it will happen tonight. England vs Iceland. England freeze for the whole 120 mins  [laugh] 0-0. Go to penalties. I choose Si Gin Na to miss the penalty kick and cry like a baby. 5-4 Iceland win  [thumbsup]
