Basil grows very fast and at the beginning you will love it. Just pluck fresh and use for cooking straight away......

Until I get alphids infestation and nothing I tried could get rid of them. The whole plant will get sticky and pretty disgusting....... same thing happened to my chilli padi. Seems anything fragrant esp herbs etc it is difficult to keep the pest away. I even thought of introducing lady bugs to eat the pest...... nothing work.

Now I grow ginger and lemon grass. No pests at all.

Trying those Indian dried chilli.... managed to get them to grow from seeds..... maybe the variety of chilli matters. Try try.

I thought they said soap solution can remove aphids.

For my very small herb pots, I found caterpillar on 3 occasions on lime leaves, kaffir lime leaves.

I sacrifice the 3 leaves with the caterpillar on it, over the edge of my 8th floor hdb.

So now, I will inspect the plants everyday. If I see holes on leaves, there's a caterpillar hiding behind it.

I am going to plant sweet basil

I love sweet basil with Spaghetti.  Also like parsley with Spaghetti but not at same time.

I always used to make bolognese sauce for spaghetti but when in UK my barber was italian from Naples so not really a spaghjetti region but he told me about a spaghetti sauce.

fry Onion amount up to you ditto garlic

fry pancetta

add some chilli and anchovy then add the already fried onion and garlic

Squeeze in some tomato puree and chopped tomatoes

can add some fried chopped white mushrooms if want

Cook spaghetti and drain and then pour into sauce mix and toss well.

Add basil or parsley and toss really well.

Glass of red wine

Absolutely epic.

Never eaten Bolognese again.

Spaghetti vongole is also epic and easy.

Linguine works as well as spaghetti.

Does anyone know what plant this is?

Found it growing in my garden & I'm very sure I didn't show any seeds nor planted it. Wanted to remove it & suddenly it started flowering.

Look like pumpkin to me. You sure you did not dispose or drop any pumpkin seed in your garden accidentally?

Come to think of it, I last prepared pumpkin in Dec'18. It must have sprouted after the seeds were accidentally discarded in the water I recycled over the flowerbeds.
