Received the mailed sales agreement from cnc...the front&back car cam changed from JS400(dun know what it is) to Thinkware 750...

My SE said Thinkware is only for the smaller cars A, B and CLA. Maybe some others who booked a C Class like me can confirm with their SE's?

I'll get the JS400 for my C Class, not sure what it will be for other bigger cars. But this cam post got me checking:

http://tomocse.com.sg/product/js400/

http://www.thinkware.com/Products/Dashcam/F750

The JS400 may not be as nice looking as the Thinkware 750 but it should serve its purpose. Not sure as well which is functionally better. Anyway, I still keep the $500 welcome pack (it is part of the $3K+ CARessental Package Plus) and the $500 voucher in my deal, among others [:)]

Nice...

Btw, I assume that in car camera is only used for accident insurance disputes? Worse come to worse I claim my insurance and lose 30,20,10% ncd over three years. That is around $1.5k.

I driven over 20 years and had around maybe 4 accidents, none of them has any insurance disputes.

Is there any other adv of having incar camera?

In my view, the value of an in-car camera is not monetary. If you get into an accident that doesn't involve any injuries, regardless of whose fault it is, ultimately, money will resolve the matter. Even if it's not your fault, but you have no evidence and end up having a claim made against your insurance, it's fine.

The value of an in-car camera is when you injure someone and face prosecution. That's when money can no longer solve the problem. Imagine hitting a reckless jaywalker or a cyclist or someone riding a scooter through no fault of yours and being charged by the police, without any evidence to defend yourself. That's when an in-car camera will pay its price many times over.

I can't imagine someone who can buy a Merc and wants to save on this invaluable device..

It comes with the car, just keep it man.

It does not come with my car. I asked for discount over the dash cam. So it seems to be not factory fitted but added in locally?

I have been driving for 20 years without dash cam... I am wondering what I am missing out.

That makes sense... I never had an accident with any injuries before.
